Q. No.4 For an elevated cylindrical steel tank with conical roof and hemispherical bottom of capacity 145000 lit. Design cylindrical portion, conical roof and hemispherical bottom along with connection. Design a ring beam, situated @ 12 m from ground level. Draw suitable sketches.
Q. No.5 For the data given in question No.4, design a staging system for'tank subjected to wind pressure of 2 kN/m2 only. Height of columns above ground level is 12.0 m. (No Seismic load analysis )
Q.No.6 (a) Two members of tubular trusses principal rafter and tension member meet at an inclination of 60 degrees. Principal rafter carries a force of 200 kN and its length is 2.1 meter while tension member carries a force of 70 kN. Design the members using tubes. Also design, the weided connection. (10)
b) Design a suitable welded connection for ISMB 450 connected to ISHB 450 to transmit an end reaction of 120 kN and moment of 32 kN-m. (10)
