Good morning Turvey Park PS families

We are now in Autumn and it is getting cooler each morning. Students are starting to come to school wearing their jumpers. Please make sure your child’s name is written in their jumper so we can return them if we find them in the playground or hallway. Thank you.

The TPPS P&C meet next Wednesday 10/3 at 7pm in the staffroom. Please think about coming and hearing about how we can work together to make this the best school it can be. Don’t be frightened of the AGM part of it; you won’t be railroaded into an executive position! We’d just like to build up the number of parents and carers who want to contribute to our school.

This Thursday is another chance to contribute to our fabulous school. We are having a mufti day and are hoping that students can donate an item to the canteen to help create the fabulous food Jodi makes. In this newsletter is a list of items that we would love to have donated to our canteen if you are able to. Thank you.

To help make our playground an inviting and sustainable space for us to learn, teach and play in, TPPS is beginning a journey towards sustainability and creative outdoor learning spaces. Mrs Irons and a team of TPPS student & teacher volunteers are establishing a green team that will design and make outdoor learning areas, improved playground areas and sustainable practices in our school. Please talk with your little person in the next couple of weeks and find out about the changes we are making in our school.

As part of our reporting processes, in the last three weeks of school teachers will be offering progress interviews to families of all students. These can be face to face discussions or via a phone call. Please look out for a note coming home in the next week regarding the interviews.

Have a great week

Anna RobertsPrincipal

Donation/ Mufti DayTomorrow, 4th March will be a mufti day. Donations to the canteen will be greatly appreciated. Please see the attached list

Lunch Order FridaysThe changes to the Friday menu have helped the canteen run more smoothly. However as approximately 100 lunch orders are processed each Friday, 2 volunteers are needed each Friday (one at 9-1.20pm and one 11.15 – 1.30pm). If you have some spare time on a Friday please consider volunteering in the canteen. Students really love seeing their parents/grandparents faces behind the counter and no previous experience in necessary. For more information Jodi can be contacted via the school office, P&C Facebook page or P&C email address.

Facebook PageTurvey Park Public School P&C Association is our official Facebook page. ‘Like’ us, to keep up to date with P&C information.

Since 1934 the Australian Air League has been teaching young boys and girls nationwide all about aviation, while helping them develop important life skills like leadership, discipline, self confidence and teamwork. When you join the league you will make new friends and take part in fun and exciting activities, on the ground and in the air. Each week you will attend your local squadron where you will learn valuable skills and take part in fun and interesting activities and classes. Some of our classes include Meteorology, Navigation, Photography and Community Service. Squadrons also attend training camps, sport and recreational days, flying experiences and ceremonial drill. We welcome boys and girls the age of 8 years old from all different cultures and backgrounds. Parents and families are welcome to support or even join their local squadron as a volunteer. All adult members and volunteers are Working with Children Checked. The Australian Air League is running both a fun and educational programme that is making fine citizens out of our young Australians.
