HOW TO USE THE PACE PROJECT DIRECTORY
WHAT IS THE PACE DIRECTORY?
The PACE project was started to help organisations in one part of Africa get the benefits from theideas and experiences of people working in other parts. By sharing ideas we don’t have to startfrom zero. We can learn from other people’s experiences and share our own findings with them,so everyone benefits. The PACE directory is a list of people and organizations ready to shareuseful ideas.
The PACE Directory was created alongside the following educational materials for use byschools, environmental education centres and community based organisations:
The PACE FILM on VHS or DVD for schools, environmental education centres and communitybased organisations
AFRICA, OUR HOME – a beautiful illustrated book for children, teachers and leaders, including environmental education activities on each topic
The PACE ACTION SHEETS – more detailed information on the solutions and projectsfeatured in the films
 A wall poster
HOW WAS THE PACE DIRECTORY DEVELOPED?The PACE project research team focused on finding people who are developing and sharingstraightforward solutions to common environmental problems. You will meet these people in thePACE films, and read about them in the book Africa Our Home and the PACE Action Sheets. ThePACE directory contains contact details for all these people and the organizations with whichthey are involved. You can contact them to ask for more information on putting the ideas coveredin the PACE pack into practice. Some of the organizations listed may also be able to give furtherinformation about grants for specific projects.
HOW DO YOU SEARCH FOR A PARTICULAR ORGANIZATION?Organizations are listed in alphabetical order within each topic section. Thus, if you read aboutan organization in an Action Sheet from the Energy section, or saw it in one of the Energy films, you will find the details in the Energy section of the directory.
People and organizations that were featured in the PACE films are marked with this icon:
If you are consulting this onscreen as a pdf document, you will be able to use the Search button to search for a particular organization.
