The inspiration behind this design is based on the Ross Lovegrove water bottles. A heat gun was used to shrink the plastic to create abstract and interesting shapes. Then using transparent paint to decorate the bottle in attempt to use color to explore light translu-cency and refraction.

We looked into the biomimicry aspect of the project to in-spire our team. We looked into self cleaning properties that were applied in specific plants and animals, such as lilypads and butterflies

Filtration become a complex problem and made our project more complicated. To filtrate the wa-ter, we had to consider dirty water, sediment, and bacteria. In order for clean water, a larger system would be needed to address these problems.

Research shows that UVC is the only UV ray that can kill germicidal bacteria. (275 nm is the ideal frequency for maximum effectiveness)
