XL Reporter Tutorial

Directly, here are the instructions to use XL Reporter:
1. Go to: Start>> Programs>> XLReporter>> Project Explorer, and open it

2. This is the window of the software shown in the figure:

3. Click the [+] sign in front of Templates as illustrated below:

4. Click the + sign in front of Reports
Reports include the templates of the executable xls reports. Any amendments to the format of the reports should be done here if needed.
The meanings of report list are shown in the Table 1.

5. For instance, if it’s required to check NG Fuel Report, just double click on Front_End_Sheet6. After this action, xls sheet will be opened displaying the template of NG Fuel Report. These sheets under Reports, shouldn’t be amended or played with, unless there are some changes should be implemented by authorized person.
6. Click the [+] sign in front of Schedules as illustrated below:

7. The same list mentioned under point no. 4 are shown below, but the difference is that these lists are not for edition here, but for action of exporting xls files. Before doing exporting, there are two steps should be done:
7.1. Starting the action (this step should be done whenever the software is closed): this is done by double click on any sheet under schedule, for example Front_End_Sheet1.

This window will appear:

Go to>> Schedule>> Start, and click it.

This window will come and verify the starting. Don’t close this window, but minimize it.

7.2. Double click Function Editor (this step must be done after any file exporting) Don’t forget!

This step is important to have a good file formate. After double click on function Editor, select Counter. The colomn value for all the lists should be 0 before and after any export. To make it 0, just select the list the has non-zero value and press Reset. Then close Function Editor window.

8. After making sure that the previous steps are valid, go for export step.
This can be made by double click the targeted sheet under Schedule.

9. In the window, there are two rows. Right click on the top one and then go to Execute >> whether On a Specific Date or Over a Data Period. But better to choose Over a Data Period, so click it.

A small window will appear, from which you adjust required time period and then click OK.

10. The file will get exported as it is clear from the picture below. After finishing click close.

11. Immidiately, after finishing the export don’t forget to rest the counter by clicking Function Editor.

Reset as explained previously.

12. Now the files exported are ready and you can find them in the following directory:
D :\XLRproject\Reports
The exported files will have the date of export.
