Quality Assurance

All tutors are current University student with a minimumgrade ‘B’ in English and Maths at GCSE & A level. They arereference checked with reliable referees.

All tutors are enhanced DBS checked, and trained in first aid and child protection. Our interview and assessment process requires them to demonstrate clearly their skills, competencies and passion for the role.

Tutors work to a primary curriculum scheme, designed by our experienced curriculum developer. Tutors are fully trained in their subject units, assessing pupils and lesson planning. They are regularly monitored, guided and supported by their dedicated programme officer.

As with all Tutors United programmes, our quality assurance for the At Home Tutoring programme will be just as tight. All our tutors will be hand picked from our best applicants and will be trained to teach our tailor-made, SATS focused curriculum.

Programme Overview

Key Stage 2 includes two of the most important years in primary school. Years 5 and 6 are when pupils begin to feel the pressure of impending SATS and is often a time when pupils excel, or fall behind.

Tutors United believe in strengthening the connection between school work and home study – bringing education back home. This helps you as parents understand how your child is working, what they are learning and ultimately how you can help them achieve their best.

We believe the 1-1 learning style that is so rare in the classroom, is often the most beneficial to pupils. Much like a traditional tutoring service our ‘At Home Tutoring Programme’ is designed to be delivered to 2 pupils (learning partners) at home, for 1 hour every week. We believe the opportunity for pupils to work together as a pair will be hugely valuable, as they have a buddy to work with in lessons and reflect on tutoring with outside of lessons.

We have designed this programme to focus on important SATS prep and to help ensure that children (and Parents!) feel ready for the impending jump up to Secondary School.

• Learning partners work together in every lesson from the house of 1 parent – this remains consistent every week.

• Partners are able to support each others learning and benefit from each others knowledge.

• Weekly feedback from Tutors provides parents with up to date info about their child’s successes and areas that may need to be developed.

• Yearly 1-1’s between parents and their programme officer help to identify and address any areas for improvement.

• Parents are invited to apply for free additional resources at the end of the term to help push their child to reach their full potential.
