TweetChat Analytics: @IAP2Cdn and #IAP2chat

Executive Summary:
On Thursday, October 20 2011 IAP2 Canada and Noreen Rude from The City of Calgary hosted a TweetChat to discuss online engagement. The purpose of the TweetChat was two-fold: 1) to enable participants in the IAP2 Austrasia Conference to see a live demonstration of the use of a social media tool for engagement; and 2) to initiate discussion with the P2 community on online engagement. The #IAP2chat was developed and facilitated by Helen Wong at The City of Calgary.
The following analytics were obtained from TweetStats Analytics (www.tweetstats.com), which provides statistics on the Twitter User. The statistics provided only gives a glimpse of the activity for a certain day. Please note, the timeline statistics generated reflect the local time of the account which is based in Ontario. 1
In reviewing the TweetChat for this event, there were a total of 59 mentions of IAP2Chat (including promotion and re-tweeting of event). The majority of participants used the TweetChat app to join the conversation. Approximately 14 individuals participated 2in the TweetChat.
1 The TweetChat was conducted MST 9:30 pm to 11:00pm. 2 Individuals who sent in Tweets (replies) during the TweetChat are considered participants.
