Fall Festival Fall Festival is only two weeks away! If you are inter-
ested in helping but have questions, please feel free to
contact Heather Komas (262) 989-8535. We are still
looking for someone to help with advertising in the com-
ing years. This would also look great on a resume for
someone new to the role!
Going through all of your garden produce and wondering
what you will do with it when everything is ripe at the
same time? Consider donating it to our produce booth for
Fall Festival! Donations may be dropped off Sunday
morning before the festival.
Aluminum Can Drive will be held the weekend of Fall
Festival – October 5th-7th. Please drop off your cans in
the back parking lot (E. North St.) in the collection

Vatican II Liturgy Series
The Office of Worship is hosting a series of
workshops called, This Sacred Council: An In-
Depth Study of the Second Vatican Council’s
Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy. All sessions are
led by renowned liturgical scholar Abbot Marcel
Rooney, OSB. His informative and enjoyable
presentations make these sessions appropriate for
anyone who participates in the Church’s liturgies.
The workshop is especially geared toward
parishioners who simply want to know how to
celebrate the liturgy more fully so that their lives may
bear abundant fruit!
The sessions will be held on Saturdays, September
29, November 17, January 19, February 16 and
March 16, all from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Holy Name
Heights (702 S. High Point Road in Madison). You
may come to one or to all five! The sessions are free
(a voluntary offering will be accepted at each
session). To learn more or to register, go to
www.madisondiocese.org/Rooney or call (608) 821-
3080.
Our 8th graders, under the direction of Ms. Schels,
had their first service day on Monday, 9/17. A couple
of students assisted in the PreK room, and about half
the rest of the class went to St. Vincent’s auxiliary
building (Nevermann Optometry Office) to help
clean, while the other half went to St. Coletta’s to
help create some fall crafts to decorate the common
area. Thank you 8th grade, and Ms. Schels, for your
service. You are a great example.
St. John’s is looking for a part-time night janitor
willing to work around 20-25 hours per
week. Contact Mr. Bare at the school if you are
interested.
We are entered into a free contest with Unity Point
Health. All you have to do is click a few buttons here
https://www.unitypoint.org/imaginetheamazing.aspx.
St. John’s could win up to $25,000 with no strings
attached. You can vote as often as you want, so get a
timer out and vote every few minutes, and tell your
friends!
Join us for dinner at Culver’s on Monday night,
Sept. 24. Some teachers and Mr. Bare will be
delivering meals to tables and cars. SJB gets a
percentage of the sales that night. The class with the
highest percent of students participating will win a
treat from Mr. Bare.
Rake-a-thon is scheduled for Friday, November
2. We will be looking for volunteers to help that day.
Our mass on Thursday 9/27, put on by the 1st and 6th
graders, is being offered as a tribute to our volunteers
at St. Vincent de Paul. Please join us if you can and
help us say thank you to these wonderful people who
give of their time and treasures to our school.
“It’s a GREAT DAY to be a KNIGHT!”
