Collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada: Support for the Bishops of Canada to proclaim the Good News
As his term as President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) draws to a close, Bish-op Lionel Gendron, P.S.S., Bishop of Saint-Jean-Longueuil, expresses his sincere appreciation for the breadth and abundance of work accomplished by dioceses/eparchies, regional episcopal assemblies, and the CCCB as a national conference. Support of this annual collection for the country’s Bishops “will help us achieve our goals, and to proclaim the Good News in Canada.”
The Collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada will take place 28 and 29 September 2019. This annual charitable initiative assists the Bishops in their ministry of accompanying, teaching, guiding, sanc-tifying and caring for the Church in Canada.

THINKING ABOUT BECOMING A LEADER WITHIN THE PARISH?
The Rite of Christian Imitation of Adults, or RCIA Team is actively seeking members of the Parish who are willing to walk with adults who are on a journey to become members of our Church. For more information please con-tact the Parish Office and a team leader will contact you. An information night will be held here on Wednesday October 16, 2019 from 7:00PM to 8:00 PM.
THINKING ABOUT BECOME A
MEMBER OF THE CHURCH?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA, is a process prepared by the Church, through which a parish prepares and wel-
comes new members into the Christian com-munity. This is a time of preparation for a person who has never been baptized, for
someone who has been baptized in another denomination and wishes to become a
Catholic, and for someone who has been baptized as a Catholic but who has not
received any instruction in the faith It is a journey of faith through stages of questioning,
discernment of God’s call, reflection on the Gospel and prayer, instruction and discussion, in a community building experience with oth-er members of the Parish. The first meeting of
the RCIA Group will be held here on Wednesday October 23, 2019 from 7:00
PM to 8:30 PM. To register please call the Parish Office and a team leader will
contact you.
