When God created the world He declared that it was good and He gave it to all mankind for us to enjoy. However, over the years we have created a chasm between those who have great gifts and those who do not. In today’s Gospel we see that with our own generosity we must bridge that gap between those who have much and those who have little or we may find ourselves on the wrong side of the chasm in the next life.

Potato with cheese, sweet cabbage, or lekvar are available. Limit of 3 dozen sweet cabbage allowed. Price is $6 per dozen.

COMMUNITY MEAL: Thank you to the St. Nicholas School Moms’ & Dads’ Club for hosting the September community meal. Next month’s dinner will be held on Tuesday, October 22 from 5 - 6 pm in the Great Hall.

The CHRIST OUR SAVIOR FOOD PANTRY at HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, sponsored by our Parish St. Vincent de Paul Society, is open from

9:30 AM - 12:00 PM on MONDAYS for anyone in need of assistance. To maintain this ministry we need to keep the shelves at the pantry full of non-perishable food items. Please use the donation boxes located in both Churches as you are able to so we can continue to help those less fortunate in our community. Donations can also be dropped off at the Parish Office. Suggested Donations for September: Cereal, Syrup, Pancake Mix, Tuna, Macaroni & Cheese, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Tissues. *The Food Pantry also accepts donations for babies and mothers in need. Suggested Donations: Formula, Baby Food, Diapers, Baby Wipes.

Bible Sharing & Discussion with Deacon John: Meetings will resume on Monday, October 7th at 6:30 PM in the Parish Office conference room. All are invited, all are welcome!

The CENTERING PRAYER GROUP meets in the St. Nicholas Lower Church on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 6 - 7pm. All are welcome! If you have questions about the Centering Prayer Group please call the Parish Office @ 330-755-9819 to leave your name and phone number. A member of the group will get back to you.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: Christ Our Savior Council #4471, 3rd Degree meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month in the Holy Name Room in the Great Hall at 7PM. All members are encouraged to attend.

MOBILITY ON LOAN: the Knights of Columbus’ Mobility on Loan ministry has a nice inventory of wheelchairs, potty chairs, walkers, and crutches available for loan. Items are available for loan at no cost to the parishioners and immediate families of Christ Our Savior Parish and the brother knights and families of Council 4471. Any parishioner having a need for one of the above listed devices or having one to donate, may contact brother knights Joe Wilkos at 330-782-6858 or Andy Brincko at 330-782-2400.

The Chapel Crochet & Knitting Group of Chr ist Our Savior Parish meets the 1st Monday of the month at 7:30 PM in the St. Nicholas Lower Church. All skill levels are welcome. Contact Virginia Bartos at 330-406-0364 for more information.

STUFFED CABBAGE DINNER: Help is needed to roll the stuffed cabbage on Saturday, October 19th.. All volunteers should meet at Holy Trinity at 9:30 a.m. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Beginning next weekend, our parish will be participating in First Step for Change, a project sponsored by Catholic Charities to collect money in order to assist low-income pregnant women and families with food, formula, clothing, diapers and other items essential to a child’s health, safety and well-being. Each family interested in participating in First Step for Change is asked to pick up an envelope from the back of the church after Mass. This collection is slightly different than last year as we are using envelopes instead of baby bottles. This collection method is more cost effective and better for our environment. The remainder of the collection process in the same. Take an envelope, place it in a common location in your home, and fill it up throughout the month. All money collected by our parish will help to meet local needs. Donations will be collected at the end of the month. Thank you.

The Rosary will be recited every Tuesday during the month of October at 5 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine at the Holy Trinity Church site come rain or shine. Bring a friend, a chair and a blanket if chilly.

The Parish Office will close at 1pm on Wednesday, October 16 for Child Protection Training for parish staff.

PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY

Living Bread Radio Network Launches First Video-Only Series on the Rosary

The Living Bread Radio Network is launching its very first

video-only series for social media. The show, entitled The

Power of the Bead, will be available on the stations Facebook

page and YouTube channel. The program will focus on the

history of the Rosary, the graces received while praying it, and

which saints had a particular devotion to it. The Power of the

Bead airs every Thursday at 3 PM beginning on Thursday,

October 3 and will include eight episodes (two for each

mystery of the Rosary).

T.O. Bennett will serve as the host of the program. She has

been with the station for several years working on other

programming like Catholic Challenge and Catholic Close-

Up. Each week she will delve into a new theme and share the

rich history of the Rosary in the Church. The mysteries of the

Rosary (Luminous, Sorrowful, Glorious and Joyful) will

change each week so that viewers can learn about the various

events in the life of Christ.

The Ursuline Education & Wellness Center, 4280 Shields Rd., invites you to the final guided labyrinth walk of 2019 Sunday, October 13 at 2 p.m. The theme is “Love your enemies.” All persons of faith are invited to participate in these free, weather-permitting events. Walks generally take 20 minutes to ½ hour. The labyrinth is open year-round from dawn to dusk. There is no cost to use the labyrinth, which is accessible for different physical abilities and offers ample parking.
