Old Business: Motion #010113: Submitted by Wes S: To donate are surplus cash to support Carolina Region by 50% to go directly to Region; 50% directly to World. MOTION FAILED: 0 for, 15 against, 1 abstention Motion #010213: Submitted by Tracey G: For Area to go back to Policy and begin donating to the Carolina Region. MOTION PASSED: 11 for, 4 against, 1 abstention

New Business: Debi M. ran for Vice-Chair of the Area. GSRs voted and APPROVED! Thanks, Debi, for your service! Resume attached.

Area is in need of an Alternate Secretary!!! All other Alternate positions have been filled at this time. Come July, I will need someone to take over the position of Secretary. If interested, please contact me at 336.575.3307, or attend next ASC meeting.

Piedmont/Greensboro Area have declined having a combined convention.

Motion 020113: Submitted by Gina B: Should our Area have a Convention at all? Motion to be voted on my home-groups.

Concern 020113: Submitted by Never Lonely Again: What is going on with the lawyer that TCANA will pay for the written document to NC Attorney General? Gina will be getting more info to bring back to the area.

It is time for area inventory. Chair and Vice-Chair will be checking the guidelines for Policy.

Treasurer Highlights: **Cyndi came across an error in the starting formula from October and has made the necessary corrections. Please see her report. Open Forum Discussion notes from Tracey G, Alt. RCM: The convention adhoc committee reported the TCA will not join with Piedmont or Greensboro Areas for tri-area convention. Discussion was held and motion sent back to Home Groups "if the groups want to host a convention or not". Discussion: Concerns that convention never has profits (seed money) remaining to help start-up for next convention. Asked, "is it financially feasible?" When conv comm starts planning they are already at a disadvantage and the fundraisers start. Concerns that some homegroups aren't donating to the ASC to support the convention. Discussion on the conv comm begging for support, tried to get others involved, reported monthly on what positions needed to be filled on committee. That people want to be critical and negative but don't want to serve on the committee and help planning. Why is support so low and racially imbalanced? The answer to that, will be the problem we need to fix. Discussion: That our convention is not inclusive, is racially imbalanced, and has created an environment of "this is mine". Importance of "the spirit of rotation" was discussed as well as, the convention subcomittee is formed by the ASC, reports to the ASC which operates within established guidelines and budget and are responsible to report to the area monthly on business and financials. An idea discussed, to insure diversity, was to have a lottery, where each homegroup is given a position that needs to be filled and that homegroup be responsible to fill that position to serve on conv subcommittee. Concern was you can't force anyone to serve. Will discuss further.

RCM Report Twin City Area .Carolina Region January 20, 2013

The Regional request for an extension to file our Fiscal Year 2011 (Ended July 2012) taxes has been filed with the IRS.

We have received re-instatement of our tax exempt status, for most of the period in question.

The details are to be published on the Regional secure portal. There are also some other items such as thecopier, file cabinets etc. that will be dealt with, but I am not sure of when or how. Please review all theinformation with your Home Groups, this is the information including financial reports that you havebeen asking for to review. The recent O&F subcommitte minutes, plus PR, H&I and Litariture are also postedon that sight. Our Area again had no sub committee chairs inattendence. Other members from our Area were inattendence and participated Val, Arva, Debbie T, Tracy and myself.

Here's how you get to the Secure Document Portal for minutes and other information:

1. Go to crna.org

2. scroll to the bottom of the page

3. click on "Service Resources"

4. scroll to the bottom of that page

5. click on "Secure Document Portal"

6. Enter the secret user name and password

USERNAME: crsc_user

PASSWORD: crscpw

7. Click on the CRSC_Meeting_Minutes file and you will see sub-folders for csrc minutes and other subcommittees.

8. The file name is "APPROVEDRSCMeeting Minutes"

The question is again being asked of all Home Groups, what do you want and expect for your Area from theRegion, What are you willing to do ??
