Twitter “Lingo”

@ = to reply a comment aimed at one user, but visible to the public

DM = direct messages sent in private

Retweet = sharing someone else’s post often abbreviated as “RT”

Hashtag = words beginning with “#” to help track conversations specifically, along with emphasizing what you are talking about

Twitpic = posting photos on twitter

Basic Twitter Knowledge

There are 140 characters per tweet, keep things simple

You can shorten your url’s to post images or blog posts with “Bit.ly” or “Tinyurl”

Look for colleagues or employees to boost your number of followers
