ABOUT THE COLLEGE University College of Engineering Villupuram, (A Constituent College of Anna University) was started in the year 2008.The college offers five Under Graduate courses and a Post Graduate course in the field of Engineering and Technology. The college is situated at Kakuppam, Villupuram town with an extent of 17.5 acres which includes excellent academic building, hostel, mess and canteen. The college is well equipped with smart lecture halls, spacious conference halls, necessary laboratories and advance equipments for research and academic activities. The students from various places of Tamilnadu with different background are selected on the basis of merit through TNEA, conducted by Anna University. UCEV is identified as a center for conducting TANCET examination and issuing application for TANCET, TANCA. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in UCEV, in the year 2008 with the objective of imparting value added education for the society in the field of Communication Engineering. The Department is aspiring to prepare students to achieve their dream career through continous learning to undertake professional career in industry, research and teaching field. The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has been continuously making progress in teaching and research activities.

The Department offers the course by the syllabus

and curriculum framed by Anna University. The ECE Department has a team of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members to impart technical education. It has well equipped laboratories with all the required equipments and software needed for practical and research work for the students. The Department has Wi-Fi enabled class rooms to support e-learning. Soft skill training programs, workshops and lectures are being arranged for the student in order to inculcate employability skills and social focus on the minds of upcoming ECE Professionals.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

The objective of the “Embedded IoT Application Using Raspberry Pi Boards” ‘workshop is to explore the recent trends in the area of Embedded IoT to faculty members, research scholars and students so as to enrich their mind and knowledge . With the emergence of Cloud Computing and other technologies. Applications are increasingly driven by Cloud technologies. Participants will get an exposure on Virtualization, Cloud middleware, Hadoop and Introduction to Big Data.

ABOUT THE COURSE This workshop is organized to use IoT concepts using Raspberry Pi device. The Internet of things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to connect and exchange data. The applications for internet connected devices are extensive. Multiple categorizations have been suggested, most of which agree on a separation between consumer, enterprise (business), and infrastructure applications. COURSE OUTCOME At the end of this Workshop, the participants will be able to, 1. Install and Configure IoT using Raspberry Pi 2. Apply various ideas and Design small circuits & model 3. Implement IoT concepts in real time applications
