A Special Dedication To ...

Mrs. Jeanne Polinski

The dedication of our yearbook goes to Mrs. JeannePolinski for her years of dedication to the students. She has been a huge part of our high school experiencehere at Cardinal McCarrick. She has watched the classof 2004 grow from the children we were freshman yearto the young adults we turned into during our senioryear. Mrs. Polinski does so much that most of us don'teven notice; from transferring students, to making ourschedules, to helping those with their academic prob-lems, and any personal problems that may have oc-curred throughout our four years here. With her doorwide open, Mrs. Polinski has always greeted us withher warm, supporting smile. The class of 2004 wouldlike to give a special thank you to Mrs. Polinski for mak-ing high school a truly great experience that we willnever forget.

"Mic Check 1, 2" Living in a gangsters Paradise

The Senior Retreat that was held on October 20th through the24th was a success. Every year, starting as a freshman, we areoffered this great experience. We had the opportunity to singsongs with groups, watch movies, play sports, have discussions, eat and sleep as much as possible. Although we loved the freetime that we got to spend with our friends, there was always timeto spend spiritually. A short mass was held and an opportunitywas given to receive confession. Students have the time to getaway from their ordinary lives. Being seniors, we have seen thechanges that have occurred each year on retreat. As seniors, wewould like to especially thank Sister Kateri who has planned theretreat each year and who made each year an experience that willnever be forgotten. As upperclassmen, we would like to pass downthis opportunity to all underclassmen. This is an experience thatwill only come a few times. Take our word and enjoy the experi-ence as we did.

A night to remember with the girls

Over the years, the Foreign Language HonorSociety has helped to educate students in manydifferent areas of the French and Spanish cultures. To be eligible tor the society, students must main-tain a high average in both regular and foreign lan-guage classes. They also must show leadershipqualities through community service. In years pastthey have raised money for people in other nationswho are less fortunate. Along with Mrs. Jedda. thegroup's moderator, the FLHS helps to culturallyeducate people about different foreign cultures.

You think you have an easy elective for senior year, Jour-nalism. Think again. Yearbooks are a lot of work. Be-sides designing the cover, the class must choose a theme, decide on colors, crop pictures, type copy and create lay-outs. All of the skills required to create a yearbook arelearned in this class. Although the deadlines can be stress-ful at times this class is truly a learning experience.

Well here it is. Sceptre 2004! The staff has worked to-gether as a team, sharing responsibility, so no one personhad to bear the burden alone. They've spent countless hourstrying to bring this yearbook to perfection. I commendthem for their dedication. Even though I may be frantic attimes I want you all to be very proud of what you haveaccomplished. As you read through this yearbook, enjoythe memories of this past year.

Lend Me a TenorNovember 2003

Smile for the camera

Lend Me A Tenor is the zany saga of a Cleve-land Opera company dealing with famed butproblematic Italian tenor Tito, who is gueststarring in their production of the operaOthello. Because he believes Tito is dead,Max goes on in his place without anyone'sknowledge. The action just gets wilder andwackier from there, culminating in a rau-cously happy ending for all concerned.
