TYPES OF PARAGRAPHS

We understand as paragraph, the fragment of a letter, this which consists of a specific topic, this is composed of a main sentence which can be easily distinguished since it sets out the essential part of it, this may appear in the text implicitly or explicitly. According to their purpose are classified according to their location, content and logical structure:

ACCORDING YOUR LOCATION:

Opening Paragraph: In this type of paragraph the author raises the theme to try, its function is to introduce the reader to the text and to attract their attention.

Transition Paragraph: This allows the continuity of the text, the expressions that used are: therefore, however, also then, etc.

Closing Paragraph: Present a generally summary of the text, sometimes provides conclusions on the subject matter exposed, by recovering the essence of the text

ACCORDING TO ITS CONTENT

Paragraph Argumentative: It exposes an idea or thesis, in order to convince the receiver of what the author wants to affirm or deny.

Paragraph Conceptual or Definition: its function is to provide the reader the necessary information so that you can understand a certain word or perhaps a special language within the text, their use is necessary in technical and scientific texts.

Chronological Paragraph: indicate the temporal cycle of an event

Enumeration of Paragraph: it stands out for that all the sentences that compose it, refer to the same topic, and also displays a list of information about each other.

Descriptive Paragraph: here the author presents in detail the person, object, place or situation which is going to talk, even more details provide you the reader, the greater the perception that this one will be the text.

ACCORDING TO ITS CONTENT

Explanatory Paragraph: It offers a broader view of the subject that is being presented.

Expository Paragraph: It presents the information in an organized fashion; they tend to be longer, depending on the complexity of the topic or the concept that is explained.

Narrative Paragraph: exposed facts in chronological order, they are own of: News, Chronicle or story.

ACCORDING TO YOUR LOGIC STRUCTURE:

Comparative Paragraph: exposed similarities or differences between two objects or ideas, some expressions of this paragraph are: "with regard to", "Unlike in".

Paragraph of Cause and Effect: presents a fact, followed by the causes that led to it and the consequences in the short, medium and long term.

Paragraph of approach and solve a problem: exposed the text in two segments:OIn the first, it raises the problem specifically.OIn the second segment, exposed the same solution.

Paragraph of Sequence or Process: relates the ideas of successively, with a main idea, and others side who support them.

ACCORDING TO YOUR LOGIC STRUCTURE:

Deductive Paragraph: It presents the main idea at the beginning, then part of a general idea and then presented specific cases.

Inductive Paragraph: It starts with the ideas secondary until you reach an idea general and later a main idea.

Conclusion Paragraph: this presents a synthesis of the treated topic, uses expressions such as: in conclusion, therefore, among others.
