With more than 150 exhibitors already confirmed totake part including many new bookings still takingplace, Tyrexpo Asia 2011 is poised to be the largest edi-tion of the show to be staged in the Singapore ExpoCentre.

Indian tyre makers BKT and CEAT have unveiled am-bitious plans for their presence at TyrexpoAsia’11 inMarch next year.

BKT, the OTR tyre specialist currently exports around95% of its production, with 60% of this currently sold inEurope where it has established a strong market posi-tion. But now BKT has turned its attention to Asia, whereit sees strong growth potential, according to AnshumanSingh, the company’s senior manager - export market-ing.

“As the only major show for tyres in the region, Tyr-expo Asia gives us the right platform to launch our fu-ture plans for this market. BKT will be showcasing itsnewly developed range of OTR radial tyres marketedunder the sub-brand name of EARTHMAX, which arebenchmarked against the world leading brand and arenow proving their worth in the marketplace,” he says.

“After being a preferred brand for agriculture, indus-trial, construction and earthmoving vehicles in Europe,BKT is also growing aggressively in Asian markets. Wewill finish this year with 50% growth year-on-year. After

becoming popular in the replacement market, BKT hasnow also become a preferred choice of few major OEMsin Asia,” confirms Mr Singh.

According to Sandeep Gulati, general manager – ex-ports at CEAT, Tyrexpo Asia’11 will be one of the firstmajor occasions to talk to customers about its recentagreement with Pirelli to acquire the global rights tomarket tyres under the CEAT brand across the world.

The exclusive ownership deal means that with im-mediate effect the brand can be marketed as CEAT in allterritories except Europe, Latin America, Mexico andTurkey, where the agreement is effective from January2012.

CEAT is also adding to its production capacity with thecommissioning in October 2010 of a fourth manufac-turing centre, in Halol, India to produce radial tyres.

The extra capacity will support sales of the CEAT andAltura brands domestically and to the 115 export mar-kets already served by the company.

Another company keen to make a big impression inSingapore next March is local manufacturer StamfordTyres. For Stamford the exhibition is a domestic event ofinternational significance, which provides the opportu-nity to host customers from across south east Asia andworldwide.

Stamford will occupy a prominent stand in the front

row of the exhibition hall and is using the occasion topromote its recently launched Firenza ST-05A range ofV and W rated high performance passenger car tyres.

Another attraction will be the company’s stunningnew wheel finish technology. This plasma high vacuumcoating provides sports wheels with a choice of brilliantfinishes in either Stainless Metallic Chrome or BlackMetallic Chrome.

Senior vice president (sales & marketing) Pat Berri-man, says: “As Tyrexpo Asia is our ‘local’ show it has aspecial meaning for Stamford Tyres.
