As we leave Uni, we look back and remember . . .

Our Sub-year - -

It was Uni's 50th anniversary. We staged a lounge sit-in . . . and got sat on. Amo-Amas-Amat! We love ourteacher a lot! Amamus-Amatus-Amant! We love our Miss Lamont! Larry Dwyer made little Bachurachs out of usall. We played 4-square and hoarded the ball. We played city and hoarded PRU's Mr. Tremblay inspired wit "Geeahm a tree". We got a taste of Dr. Szabo, and prefered spinach. Eric becomes Rufus. Kathy gets tied to a tree. Joeput his posterior through a window. Chris McCormick (1 of 5 Chris') covered his dirty books with McCarthystickers and impressed Eitelbach with his interest in politics. Mary and Chris became out first couple. Philip, Ray,and Brad merged to form one, short blonde with glasses. Margaret suffered romantic traumas in silence. Rat theRipper thrilled us. Aardvarks and Wombats as a SS final?

Our Freshman year - -

We came back find no subs to bully. We are the youngest again. We lost Cow-eyes, Chris Mc. and Abby, but wegained Frank, Joe, Yonnie, Karen, Steve, Kathy, Mike, Nancy, Patty, Elaine, Jim, Andy, Pete and Ullyses. We camewith Great Expectations to a slightly Flakey Math teacher. We found lost civilizations in boxes of dirt. David elopedwith his one true love . . . PLATO IV. We played football three times a day. Mr. Royer kicked out a record numberof students from class. Chris got kicked out a record number of times. We had raisin fights. Dean burnt down the

ILPS lab . . .3 times. We had our first (of many) class party at Joe's and went sailing (?) in a packing crate. Party

fever rages. We play Funny Bones while Kristin and Patty make peanut butter pizza. Veronica developed her shoelace fetish. Kitty come back. Chris goes West. Rufus went further West. Eric goes East (?)

88

Our Sophomore year - -

We come back to find FORMIES (UGH!!) and immediately join F.O.E. We lost Eddie, Scott, Yonnie, Patty, Nancy, and Pete; and gained Gail, Becky, Joe, Jenna, Chas, Catherine and Francois Gaunkies emerged. Greg rose to

power. We played Bridge (13 people in one game?). Baseball was banned. Real couples appeared as romanceblossomed. On Sophomore Trip we got 5,000 push-ups for Ketchup fights. Dean and Andy were found in a closet

. . . under some coats . . . together. Four of us occupied one single bed at the same time. The girls did

calisthenics braless while Joe and Mr. Scott tried to watch the BB tourney. We boycott P.E. In "Babes in Toyland"we revert to our childhood. On Valentines Day, Jenna doled out kisses and cookies. Chris becomes CROCK.Zwoyer leaves us to Davis. Chris came back—with short hair. Rufus and Eric came back.

Our Junior year - -

We came back to Uni in our total control. We lost Becky, Kate, Jo, Kristin, Mike, Steve, Elaine, Catherine andFrancois. Quack Doctor and Hitzeh expressed our every feeling. The boys explored the wonders of Uni and endedup on the roof. Frank uttered that immortal line, "Out of where?" Max slipped a caramel onion into our Bake Sale.

PDA was in full swing. Mike "whipped it out" in SS and gave a speech on keeping the audience alert with his pantsdown. Rufus becomes Gus. In Latin, The Art of Love was studied feverishly. Captain lllinek inspired us all.

Veronica finally found a good hiding place for the sho lace. We practiced mouth to mouth resuscitation ... oneach other. We actually WON a Basketball game ... (Uni vs. Beason) Nancy came back and swept Greg off his

throne. Armen went West—far West. Chris went East.

Our Senior year - -

We return as the last real class at Uni High; all the others are just Formies. We lose JoAnna, Betty, Janet, Jenna,Dort, and Joe. Chas, Armeen, and Ted return. Chris comes back—sophisticated. Karen returns fromEurope—sophisticated . . . and corrupted. We are plagued with letters from colleges, U. S. History, Calculus, andspeeches. One guarter of the class are NMSQT semifinalists. We join the workforce. Miss Leppert stays just for us.

She finally learns that Chuck is Chris, Charles is Chas, Monica is Veronica, Gus is Eric, and Kathy is Kitty. Patti J.

There is a mountain somewhere—a very high

mountain, with many treacherous cliffs and slopes.

On top of this mountain there is a flower—the mostbeautiful flower in the world—not only does this

flower have a set of colors to match any rainbow

ever, but its fragrance is appealing to everyone.

People climb this mountain to try to reach this

flower. Many try all their lives and never attain it.

Others don't care enough to try to reach this flower.

But those who make it to the top—who climb the

cliffs and slopes and finally see the flower—reach a

climax in their lives.

Yet once they have this flower it is even morebeautiful if they take it to someone else—someonewho has not been able to reach the top yet.

In case you have not guessed; the mountain is

life, and the beautiful flower is love.

I am going to reach the top someday. I am going

to pick this flower. And I am going to bring it and give

it to you.
