Dual-Use Cryostat Introduction
• Dress rehearsal for the nEDM upper cryostat
• Test-bed for various features
• Provides a home for R&D work for the He3 Injection system and the High Voltage system
U N C L A S S I F I E D3
Vacuum Chamber Assembly Status
• Vacuum chamber test assembly in progress
• Pump-down and leak check this week or early next week
U N C L A S S I F I E D4
Radiation Shield Assembly
• Split at two locations to facilitate assembly and modification inside the cryostat
• Top flanges also split
• 45° adapters can be installed after vacuum can
• All components have arrived

High Voltage System Modifications
• High voltage insert design nearing completion
• System currently open and undergoing disassembly
• Completed design for 4K shield addition, off to shops early next week
• New cradle allows HV system to be easily moved and lifted into position under cryostat
• Adding cooling lines for shields and central volume
• Connections to the upper cryostat to be made from the bottom without disturbing the upper cryostat

Cryostat Support Stand
• Simple support stand will arrive at LANL in a few weeks
• Makes use of small crane to overcome hook height problems in the building
• Auxiliary stands for the crane and atomic beam source forthcoming
