Acting Headteacher: Mrs C Crawford
Dear Parents/Carers, I was very proud to stand alongside our Year 6 representatives and many of our children in their brownie uniforms on Sunday at the Hailsham Remembrance Memorial. The children were so respectful and it was very special to be a part of such an important occasion. The rain didn’t dampen the sense of respect and importance so thank you to the children and the families who braved the weather to support them. This week has been anti-bullying week and all week the children have been working on ‘choose respect’ - which fits in perfectly with our school values of Respect, Achievement and Perseverance. The children have worked hard on this important message and I have been proud of the respect they have shown and their enthusiasm for this very important learning. You will see a photo from the work of each class below and the children are building an anti-bullying display together opposite the pastoral room. Due to the conclusion of anti-bullying week, together with the PTA mufti day and friendship disco today, we made the decision to celebrate Children in Need on Monday instead of today - Mrs Andrews and the School Council have organised for an outline of a giant Pudsey to be filled with loose change and the children may also wear their Pudsey apparel. Please bring in those pennies on Monday morning! Best wishes, Mrs Crawford

Planets Drumming Workshop
On Monday, Planets class participated in a truly fantastic drumming workshop, linked to their learning about Kenya and DT - making musical instruments. They learnt the names of different African drums and experimented with different rhythms. The next day, they wrote up their experience in the form of a journal entry - and these were fantastic too!
Remembrance Parade
Written by our Stars Roving Reporters
On the 11th November, some children from Stars attended the Remembrance Service in Hailsham. We joined the parade with local community groups such as: Guides, Brownies and Scouts. We said prayers and sang songs to remember the fallen soldiers. We felt honoured to be part of this special occasion.
Thank you to our Roving Reporters for their update!
Saying Goodbye...
I am sad to pass on the news this week that Mrs Green and Mrs Leaman will be leaving us at the end of this term. The majority of the children in the school spent their all-important Reception year with Mrs Green and she has been a big part of the school for many years. Mrs Green leaves us for an exciting opportunity to support setting up a Nursery and working with the Early Years Hub so that other teachers across the county can benefit from her expertise. We have appointed Mrs Varley, another Early Years expert, to work with Galaxies from January. Mrs Leaman leaves us to spend more time with her family and Mrs Heffernan will continue to teach Milky Ways in January. We wish both Mrs Green and Mrs Leaman the very best for the future.
