Dreamland Mattress & Furniture is celebrating nine years in business which began in 2008 as Mattress & Furniture Liquidation Center. The store’s owners, Jesse & Krista Kropf, became involved in the business in 2009 and changed the name to Dreamland in 2012. The store is located halfway between Lebanon and Myerstown on Route 422 and fills approximately 3,300 square feet with mattresses, living room furniture, and bedroom furniture. Dreamland’s depth of inventory has over 100 mattresses and foundations in stock. Customers can not only choose from 18 different mattress models but can normally drive away the same day with their purchases rather than waiting for their items to come in. Dreamland also offers delivery with their own box truck and delivery staff. Dreamland sells both the Simmons Beautyrest and the Symbol Mattress brands. Simmons has been around since the late 1800’s and their mattresses are made in Hazleton, PA. Symbol has been around for more than 50 years and their mattresses are made in Reading, PA. Both mattress brands are made locally by Pennsylvania craftsmen. In addition to standard sized mattresses, Dreamland can custom order a special size to suit your purpose. They have done custom sized mattresses for antique beds, campers, truck sleepers, and hospital beds. They also keep futon mattresses in stock.

The Kropf ’s reside in the Myerstown area. They not only live locally, but make an effort to carry as many locally manufactured items as possible. In addition to the mattresses which are produced nearby, Dreamland carries a line of Amish-handcrafted solid wood furniture. The furniture pieces are locally made and can be finished to the customer’s choice of stains, paints, and antiquing styles. Dreamland also carries several national lines of bedroom furniture including platform beds (that do not require a box spring), headboards, bunk beds, and complete bedroom suites from the Legacy Classics and Night & Day brands. For the rest of the house, they also carry blanket chests, bookcases, armoires, and television stands. Dreamland’s living room furniture is manufactured by Klaussner in North Carolina. The full line of sofas, loveseats, and recliners are available in your choice of 70 attractive fabrics at no extra charge. They also have dozens of beautiful mottos and wall hangings made by P. Graham Dunn in Ohio. The guiding principle of Dreamland’s staff is to follow the golden rule, that is by treating customers the way they would like to be treated. This works well with their non-commission sales team and no-haggle pricing, creating a friendlier shopping environment. Dreamland’s owners place a high priority on their faith in Jesus Christ, and they believe that even in these times of shifting values, living selflessly like Christ taught will always be in style.

Five years ago, Miss Morgan’s Milkweed Antiques opened in the village of Bethel, Pennsylvania. Named after, owner Diane Gibble’s granddaughter, Miss Morgan’s is thriving in the small community located at Exit 13 off Interstate 78, and Route 501N. Miss Morgan’s also features a new second floor market, named for the most recent addition to her family, granddaughter Sadie. Miss Morgan’s specializes in antiques for the home, including attic surface, primitives, country, urban farmhouse, industrial, upcycled, and repurposed décor. A great variety of special gifts for you and your loved ones can also be found including handcrafted candles, soaps, jewelry and purses, along with urban and vintage clothing, cowboys & lace, children’s items and much more. Explore the outdoor porch and gardens for many antique tattered garden goods as well as repurposed birdhouses and metal art. The store is a family affair. Husband Troy Tranquillo is co-owner and the “muscle” behind the business, while Gibble runs the day to day operations. Laurie Morgan, Gibble’s sister, is one of the many artisan vendors located in Sister Sadie’s Second Floor Market. And … Miss Morgan and Sister Sadie have been known to make an appearance now and then. It’s like a reunion at times, meeting friends and family at the shop, as it is a favorite for many locals. Customers like to spend hours exploring all the great finds, and having a friendly chat with owner Diane, and other shoppers. Gibble’s expert decorating skills make it easy for customers to envision pieces in their own homes. Many of the customers bring in their pictures to show layouts of their homes, inside and out, to find and purchase the right piece needed to finish their look. Keeping a steady pace of antique furnishings, with a high turnover, and lots of merchandise in stock and on display, has created a solid reputation throughout the community. A long time hobby, Gibble and Tranquillo look forward to traveling the East Coast, visiting flea markets, auctions, house calls, etc., to haul home those special finds for the shop. Because of their vision and goal, they both take great care in picking authentic pieces, at the best price, to deliver the best product and prices back to their customers. The strategy has worked well for the couple, building a business and customer loyalty – loyalty Diane & Troy acknowledge the first Saturday of each October at their Annual Witches of Bethel Customer Appreciation Antique & Artisan Tent Show. This year’s 5th year event is Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 8am to 4pm, and will feature several huge tents filled with over 85 antique and artisan vendors from the all over the United States as well as their buildings bursting over with lots of goodies! The Shop is ecstatic to host two Special Honorary Guests who will be joining the group this year for Meet, Greet & Book Signings. James Cramer, Seven Gates Farm; Artist, Writer, Decorator & More and Jill Peterson, Editor-Owner; Simple Life Magazine, also, Artist, Photographer, Decorator, Blogger & Much More. The show always gives back to the community each year with free hot dogs by donations to the Bethel Fire Company. But this year, it is even more Special with the purchase of a PINK Goody Bag to Honor October Breast Cancer Month. The proceeds will be donated to the new Sechler Family Cancer Center, Lebanon, PA on behalf of the Witches of Bethel. Don’t miss the tent with the PINK Tractor, courtesy of Wenger’s Farm Machinery Myerstown, PA. This event is Miss Morgan’s official kick off to the holiday season and an opportunity to say Thank You to their customers for a great year! All of this and more can be found, on the Square in Bethel, in a wonderfully restored 200 year old building on any given day.
