Stop and imagine how Jesus' disciples felt in our Bible lesson. Have you ever been on a journey? Have you ever got lost somewhere? Did you need a map? Today, Jesus reminds us Not to worry because he shows us the way! Jesus knew that the day of his crucifixion was coming and that He would soon return to His Father in heaven. He was trying to prepare His disciples for the time when He would no longer be with them. "Don't worry," Jesus said, "I am going to prepare a place for you. When his disciples didn’t understand what he was trying to say, they were frightened of the thought that Jesus was going to leave them! Since they followed him for so long, they feared living without him. Jesus was telling the disciples not to be afraid, they trusted in God and now they were to trust Jesus too. These disciples had just spent the past three years living, working, and traveling with Jesus. Now, Jesus would be taken from them. What would now happen to the disciples? Jesus wanted to remind them they need to not look at their circumstances but focus on Him. Jesus answered him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” Jesus wanted his disciples to know He and the Father were one, and that if they put their trust in God and in Him, they would one day join Him in Heaven. Prayer: Dear God, please help us keep our eyes on Jesus because we know that He is the way. We ask you to please watch over all the Mums in this world, as we remember them today on Mother’s Day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
