About the show The so called dynamic world that we live in surprises us with new forms, styles and designs everyday.

The world has been in transition for a while now. From being a single culture single community to a global village where all cultures and communities inter mingle on a daily basis and live in harmony is where we are now. However this has been a long process. What at one point of time was considered the 'best' or 'ultimate' gradually faded and gave way to something completely new. This has happened in all facets of life, may it be art, fashion, history or traditions.

Transition is a phase which compels us to think differently and this in turn supports evolution. "Transitional Traditions" is a solo show of works by U D Jain, where the artist has merged ancient icons of indian gods and goddesses with the current issues that we grapple with on a daily basis like traffic, safety etc. The technique of merging solid gold, red, blue colors over layers of different icons shows how the artists mind is undergoing transition.

Inspired by U D Jains transistional art, Elan brought together Rajdeep Ranawat and Joy Mitra to create a line of works that would complement U D Jains works.
