• The timing of Ludogorets' goal should not have been a surprise. Seven of their goals in the UEFA ChampionsLeague including qualifiers have come after the 85th minute, including extra time.

• The Swiss side turned that round with a 4-0 home victory two weeks later, 17-year-old Breel Embolo, DerlisGonzález, Shkelzen Gashi and Marek Suchý all on the scoresheet. It helped them finish second in Group B whileLudogorets ended fourth.

Head coachUrs FischerDate of birth: 20 February 1966Nationality: SwissPlaying career: FC Zürich (twice), FC St Gallen Coaching career: FC Zürich (youth and U21s head coach, assistant and head first-team coach), FC Thun, FC Basel1893

• Fischer spent his playing career as a defender for Zürich and St Gallen. Though he won four senior caps forSwitzerland, his greatest achievement was arguably winning the Swiss Cup with Zürich in 2000. He made 545 Swisstop-flight appearances before retiring in 2003.

• Fischer's first achievement as a coach came at Zürich, where he worked his way up from the youth ranks to the topjob. He took over the first team in 2010 and steered them to the brink of the title in his maiden season.

• Zürich finished only three points behind Basel in Fischer's debut campaign, a 2-2 draw against his future employerswith three games remaining proving crucial.

• Fischer and Zürich parted ways in 2012. He then had a nine-month break before joining Thun, whom he guided intothe top half of the table despite a limited budget.

• His success prompted Basel to come calling when seeking a replacement for Paulo Sousa in 2015. Fischer ledBasel to the Swiss Super League title – and automatic UEFA Champions League qualification – in his first season inthe dugout. He could not take Basel to a home final in the UEFA Europa League, though, eventual winners Sevillaknocking them out in the last 16.

Georgi DermendzhievDate of birth: 4 January 1955Nationality: BulgarianPlaying career: PFC Slavia Sofia, PFC Yantra Gabrovo, PFC Spartak PlovdivCoaching career: PFC Spartak Plovdiv, OFC Sliven 2000, PFC Ludogorets Razgrad

• As a defender, Dermendzhiev won the Bulgarian Cup with Slavia Sofia in 1980. While with the Whites, he lined upalongside some of the country's greatest players such as Andrey Zhelyzkov and Chavdar Tsvetkov.

• Gained his first coaching experience in 1995/96 with Spartak Plovdiv, but could not keep the club in the top flight.Between 1999 and 2008, Dermendzhiev was assistant coach at PFC Litex Lovech, working under Ljupko Petrović,who led FK Crvena zvezda to victory in the 1991 European Champion Clubs' Cup final.

• Of Petrović, Dermendzhiev once said: "I have worked under many coaches, but Petrović was the most impressive. He is unique, his work methodical. He knows what he wants and how to do it."

• Took charge of Sliven for 2008/09, guiding the club to a 12th-place A PFG finish. Dermendzhiev arrived atLudogorets in 2011, serving as assistant coach and then youth academy director before succeeding Stoicho Stoev on1 August 2014.

• Dermendzhiev had been in charge for just 51 top-flight matches throughout his career prior to taking the top job atLudogorets, who qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time after a remarkable penaltyshoot-out victory against FC Steaua Bucureşti in the 2014/15 play-offs. Stepped down in May 2015 having won theleague but returned that November, adding another domestic championship in 2015/16 and engineering a return tothe UEFA Champions League group stage at the start of the following campaign.
