PART B1. An isometric view of work piece is shown in figure. What will be the weight of thematerial required to produce it? The density of the material is 2.681 gm/cc. Find also the material cost if its rate is Rs.13.60 / Kg. All dimensions are in mm.

2. The dimensioned figure shows a Lathe centre. Estimate the weight and cost of material for the same, if the material weighs 7.868gm/cc and the material cost is Rs.11.45 / Kg.

3. Calculate the weight of the forged crank shaft shown in figure, if the steel weighs7.85 x 10-6 kg/mm3.

4. Estimate the weight of material required for manufacturing 220 pieces of shaft as shown in figure. The shafts are made up of MS which weighs 7.87gm/cm3. And costs Rs.4.25/Kg. Also calculate the material cost for 220 such shafts.

5. Determine the weight of 20 MS spindles. The shape and size of which are given in figure. Also calculate the weight of scrap, if they turned out from a MS rod of 30 mm dia. And facing and parting off allowances can be taken as 1.5 mm and 4mm respectively. Assume that 20mm length of rod is required for grip n the chuck. Take density of M.S. as 7.8gm/cc.

6. Calculate the number of rivets of dimensions shown in the figure, which can be manufactured from 6 kg of mild steel. Assume that there is no wastage of material. Take density of M.S as 7.87gm/cc.
