OPEN-THERM PROTOCOL CONFIGURATION

Use the parameter “OT Protocol version” (see fig.2) to configure the iModule based on the version of the Open-Therm Protocol used by the boiler:

› 0 = for boilers with electronic printed circuit board NORDGAS;

› 1 = for boilers with electronic printed circuit board HONEYWELL;

› 2 = non applicable.

CONFIGURATION OF STANDARD/DST TIME

You can switch from standard time to daylight saving time (and vice versa), using the parameter "DST change" (see figure 2) and modify the time of the iModule by one hour, according to the following convention:

› 0 = no change to current iModule time;

› 1 = add one hour to current iModule time;

› 255 = remove one hour from current iModule time.

TIME ZONE CONFIGURATION

You can manage all of the time zones from -12 hours to +14 hours, in relation to UTC coordinated universal time, with a resolution of half an hour.

The time zone of the iModule is set using the parameter "Time Zone" (see fig.2), within its his range [104÷156], according to the following rule:

· value of parameter “Time Zone” = 128 + difference of iModule time in relation to UTC time, multiplied by 2.

Examples of Time Zones:

UTC Time (Time Zone 0) = set “Time Zone” = 128;

Western Europe Time (Time one 1) = set "Time Zone" = 130;

India Time (Time Zone +5.5) = set “Time Zone” = 139;

Examples by City:

Paris/Rome = UTC Time + 1 = set “Time Zone” = 130;

London = UTC Time = set “Time Zone” = 128;

Moscow = UTC Time + 3 = set “Time Zone” = 134;

Kiev = UTC Time +2 = set “Time Zone” = 132;

Tehran = UTC Time +3.5 = set “Time Zone” = 135.

OPEN-THERM (OT) CONFIGURATION OR ROOM THERMOSTAT (RT)

For iModule systems connected to Open-Therm boilers (configuration–OT), set the parameter “Connection Type (OT/RT)” = 0;

For iModule systems connected to Room Thermostat boilers (configuration–RT), set the parameter “Connection Type (OT/RT)” = 1;

1.0.4. WIRING

Install the Local-Controller within the home, for example in the same position as the previous programmable thermostat/remote controller.

Install the iModule in any place inside the house (house, cellar, boiler room, under the stairs… ), with a good GSM signal (for iModule in GSM version) or in the vicinity of the WI-FI Router/Switch (for iModule in Wi-Fi version);

Once you have installed the Local-Controller and the iModule, carry out the following electrical connections (see fig.3):

· Open-Therm connection between iModule and Local-Controller (2 wires);

· Connection between the iModule and the Boiler (2 wires) via Open-Therm or Room Thermostat Relay;

· iModule connection to the power supply network (230VAC).

KEYConnector A (Power supply):

· N - Neutral point of power cord (mains voltage 230 VAC, 50 Hz);

· L - Phase of power cord (mains voltage 230 VAC, 50 Hz);

· G - Grounding point of power cord (mains voltage 230 VAC, 50 Hz);

Connector B (for Room Thermostat versions only):

· T1 and T2 should be connected to the boiler to activate the heating request via the Room Thermostat relay.

Connector C (Open-Therm connections): · B1 and B2 should be connected to Open-

Therm bus of the boiler (only for boilers with Open-Therm configuration);

· R1 and R2 should be connected to the Local Controller.

1.0.5. CONFIGURATION OF IMODULE GSM VERSION

WARNINGUse only SIM card “2G” type “DATA” or “OPTION + DATA” (the SIM cards “3G” are not supported like

in the case of telephone provider TRE).

To insert the SIM card into the iModule see fig.6.

Send an SMS to the telephone number associated to the SIM card inserted in the iModule with the following format:

APN:xxx# (instead of ‘xxx’ insert the APN of the operator of the SIM card inserted in the iModule).

Below are some examples of APN for Italian operators:

TIM = ibox.tim.it

VODAFONE = mobile.vodafone.it

WIND = internet.wind

Example of SMS to send to the iModule:

APN:internet.wind#

1.0.6. CONFIGURATION OF IMODULE WI-FI VERSION

Power the iModule unit (via connector A, see fig.3 in chapter ‘WIRING’);

a Wi-Fi network called “iModule_WiFi” will be activated for 10 minutes; the network can be accessed without password;

Connect a Wi-Fi device (PC/Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone) to “iModule_WiFi” network;

Open a Web-Browser in the Wi-Fi device (recommended Browsers: Internet Explorer©, Mozilla Firefox©, Safari©) and select the web page: http://captiveportal.net;

If the web page ‘http://captiveportal.net’ does not open promptly, we suggest you disable the Proxy server, where applicable (check the connection options or browser settings);

Enter the data requested in the following fields (fig.7):

› Insert miniAP PassKey: nordgas

› Insert the SSID: name of Wi-Fi network to which the iModule will connect

› Insert the PSK: name of Wi-Fi network to which the iModule will connect

› Ignor the following 4 fields “Insert Static IP Address”, “Insert Static NetMask”, “Insert Static GW Address” and “Insert Static DNS Address”

› Turn on/off DNS/DHCP: select “ON”

› Choose Auth Type: select “Open System”

› Choose Auth: select one of the following options based on the safety protocol of the Wi-Fi network to which the device will connect:

· “WPA/WPA2” (with password);

· “WEP” (with password);

· “Open” (without password) for free Wi-Fi networks;

› Choose Mode: select Station;

› Finally, press Press “GO!”.

After a few seconds, the “iModule_WiFi” network is disabled by the iModule unit via the dedicated automatic disable function of the Wi-Fi device;

On the APP iModule, wait for max 3/5 minutes and check that the room temperature displayed was updated.

NOTE: should it be necessary to repeat the Wi-Fi setup (for example when you need to change one or more parameters of the Wi-Fi network to connect), cut off power to the iModule and repeat the configuration procedure.

fig. 7

the operations described in this section are addressed to

all those who will use the machine. The machine must be

used and accessed only by qualified operators that fully

read and understood the User section, paying particular

attention to the warnings.
