(UNESCO)

UFA is a national educational charity. Since 1996, we have worked with over 750,000 young people and 6,000 adults in 50 regions, to create inspiring learning for all. UFA has also worked with groups in Jamaica and Australia.

The UFA network unlocks the potential of young people.

We raise aspirations across schools, homes and communities by creating transformational learning experiences.

We inspire and equip young people AND the adults that support them to become confident individuals, successful learners and responsible leaders.

“Can we have a day like this every day?” (Young Person participating in Super Learning Day)

Over the past 15 years schools and other organisations have developed the model to adapt it to the specific needs of the young people and many schools now have a rolling programme of Super Learning Days which enrich and complement the curriculum.

About Super Learning DaysSuper Learning Days have been a major part of the UFA experience since our inception in 1996. A Super Learning Day is a highly motivational and fun experience which has a specific focus. A Super Learning Day can be organised for a targeted group of young people, a year group or even a whole school. It works across age and ability ranges. The day takes young people off timetable to learn in different ways.

A successful Super Learning Day empowers young people to take control of their own learning and allows staff the opportunity to explore different approaches to learning.

Benefits: • Sustainable – staff receive training in delivering the day.• Gives students an intensive learning experience. • Encourages team-working.• Staff and young people learn alongside one another.• Opportunity to do something in a different way.• Can develop UFA activity in the school.

What’s in the course?

There are two routes for schools and organisations to be involved in a Super Learning Day.

1. UFA works with the school or organisation, training staff to co-deliver a Super Leaning Day with the workshop activities provided by UFA. These could include Learning to Learn, Revision and Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills. (PLTS)

2. Key adults can attend Lead Practitioner Training and then develop their own Super Learning Day programme.

CostCo - Delivery1 Day course - we work with the staff for a 1/2 day and then support them to deliver the full day.

UFA can also work directly with you to develop a unique or themed programme for your Super Learning Days.

A Typical Super Learning Day- The day begins with an assembly for all participants, introducing the theme of the Super Learning Day. - Throughout the day students, in groups, are involved in a carousel of activities which are challenging and fun.- The final group task is a review activity.- All the participants come together for a final plenary in which they share their learning and enjoyment of the day.

“At the end of the day this is an event which is fun for the whole school community and very worthwhile”(Head Teacher)
