Live Music

Music City is well-known for its unique dining establishments, many of which offer private dining options. Consider one of the many restaurants along Broadway in the heart of the city’s entertainment district. Many offer patio, open window and rooftop options, allowing guests to soak up the downtown atmosphere while enjoying the tremendous views, all against the backdrop of live music pouring from the venues in the background. Some new options in the downtown area include Rodizio Grill and The Stables at Husk.

Check out the dining guide for a comprehensive view of private dining options. If you’re looking for a more contemporary feel, check out the city’s trendy Gulch area. The area is lined with local hot spots such as Sambuca, which offers creative cuisine and a great ambiance for group gatherings and private dining.

Part of The Gulch is Nashville’s M Street District. Restaurants in the area range from upscale steakhouse Kayne Prime to chic Asian-fusion-inspired Virago. Options close to this area include Sinema, one of the city’s newer, eclectic restaurants and The Row located near historic Music Row.

The city also offers comfort food true to its roots. Southern cooking is on the menu at The Loveless Cafe. Famous for its biscuits and homemade preserves, the eatery serves up favorites such as fried chicken and country ham, and is ideal for a party, fundraiser or meeting. The Loveless Barn, located behind the restaurant, features a larger venue space.

Finally, a short trip across the scenic Cumberland River has you in the heart of East Nashville. At places like Holland House Bar & Refuge, the newly rejuvenated neighborhood features quaint restaurants that offer guests and private parties a “where the locals go” kind of experience.

A SEAT AT THE TABLE

While Nashville has long been

known for its expansive music

scene, the talent of its culinary

scene has also put Nashville

on the map. Food & Wine

highlighted the “booming Music

City food scene,” Food Arts

magazine noted the “emerging

culinary scene putting Nashville

on the gastronomic radar” and

The Local Palate featured the

“impressively diverse culinary

scene busting at the seams.”

Nashville’s creative spirit has

infiltrated its kitchens, turning

them into chefs’ studios. From

Southern fare and haute cuisine

to quite literally everything in

between, Nashville offers it all.

For an authentic taste of Nashville,

head to some of these favorite

neighborhood spots such as

The Pharmacy in East Nashville,

Urban Grub and Edley’s BBQ

in 12South, Peg Leg Porker and Watermark in The Gulch,

and City House and Rolf and Daughters in Germantown.

Of course, the city hasn’t

forgotten its roots. Two popular

traditions here are meat-and-

three restaurants and hot

chicken. Check out places

like Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant, Arnold’s Country

Kitchen and Swett’s for a

quintessential meat ‘n’ three

experience. Nashville’s most

notable contribution to Southern

culinary culture is hot chicken

restaurants, including Hattie B’s,

which let you choose the heat

level you prefer.

While Nashville will always

be Music City, it’s clear that

the talent in the city extends

far beyond music and into a

burgeoning culinary scene that

is worth a visit all on its own.
