CBR |Cylon BACnet® Router

The CBR (Cylon BACnet Router) connects BACnet MSTP networks to a BACnet/IP network, and optionally acts as a Modbus gateway. The Cylon BACnet Router is part of the Cylon BACnet range of products.

Cylon CBR is BTL approved, providing the reassurance of a product rigorously tested andverified by an independent laboratory.

HIGHLY RELIABLE DISTRIBUTED CONTROL

The Cylon BACnet end to end solution offers a robust Building Energy Management System by eliminating a single point of failure found on other systems. This is achieved through the distribution of logic, data and programming across controllersrather than locating all programming at the Router level.

FUTURE PROOF

The future-proof Cylon BACnet range provides forward and backward compatibility, meaning an effortless upgrade path for existing Cylon systems. In-built embedded webpages are provided for system configuration and diagnostics.

EASE OF ENGINEERING

The CBR2* (Cylon BACnet Router-2) features two MSTP trunks. Multiple MSTP trunks deliver efficiency in engineering. For example, in a multi-tenanted building where services are segregated, or where access to cabling is restricted, the second MSTP trunk allows for zoning of unitary controllers for controlling Fan Coils and VAV units. With less IP network traffic, network communication is more efficient. The addition of a second MSTP trunk also reduces the number of routers required, and space occupied in services panels by 50%.

The Cylon BACnet range has an external keypad for a powerful yet user-friendly interface, matched by extensive monitoring and logging capabilities.

Cylon BACnet controllers are a truly open solution for the most demanding of applications. Cylon BACnet controllers offer unparalleled flexibility and performance on an open platform. The system can easily be extended by adding best of breed 3rd party devices on the same MSTP network.

CBT | Cylon BACnet Unitary Controllers

The range of Cylon BACnet Unitary Controllers includes CBT12 and CBT12iVAV which are fully programmable to meet the most demanding control applications. Cylon’s proven UniPut™ technology is extended to the Cylon Unitary Controller range, and unlike other controllers, Cylon controllers can be re-engineered for specific applications over BACnet.

The CBT12 Unitary Controller has many of the features of a BACnet Advanced Application Controller (B-AAC) and is ideally suited to controlling single items of equipment. CBT12 has 4 universal inputs, 4 Uniputs and 4 digital outputs.

The CBT12iVAV is a programmable VAV controller with an integrated airflow sensor and actuator. It has point support for single duct and fan assisted VAV applications.

With Cylon BACnet Unitary Controllers you can add user setpoints, adjust room occupancy sensors or window contacts to further enhance energy savings. The enhanced flexibility of Cylon controllers delivers more energy efficient solutions for buildings. Optional unitary room keypad is also available.

Cylon VIPERAX Supervisorfor Scalable Building Strategies

Cylon VIPERAX Supervisor is a flexible software platform powered by NiagaraAX Framework® that integrates diverse systems and devices, such as environmental controls, security, lighting, energy, video, fire and life safety into a unified platform that can be easily managed and controlled over the Internet using a standard web browser.

Cylon VIPERAX creates a common environment that connects to almost any embedded device imaginable. It models the data and behaviour of the devices into normalised software components, providing a seamless, uniform view of device data via a wide variety of IP-based protocols, XML-based connectivity options, and open API’s.

Cylon VIPERAX supervisor serves real-time graphical information to standard web-browser clients and also provides server-level functions such as: centralised data logging, archiving, alarming, trending, master scheduling, system-wide database management, and integration with enterprise software applications. In addition, the AX supervisor provides a comprehensive, graphical engineering toolset for application development.

Cylon VIPERAX reduces development time by merging automation, IT and Internet technologies in a single solution. The Framework builds in the resources you need to implement advanced Web-services applications – TCP/IP, HTTP, XML,SOAP, oBIX – so your applications can read data, send commands, respond to alarms, etc., in real time,anytime, anywhere from a standard Web browser.

Loytec L-VIS Touch Panel for BACnet Networks

Cylon recommends Loytec L-VIS Touch Panels for use with Cylon BACnet installations. L-VIS is an extremely flexible graphical user interface with an unprecedented range of functions. Any data point can be displayed on or controlled by the high-resolution touch display, surrounded by an anodized aluminium frame.

The graphical interface can easily be adapted by using customised images or graphics in common file formats such as JPG, BMP, TIF and even animated GIF. The L-VIS Touch Panels are designed for extremely low power consumption, with consumption ranging from only 3 W to 2.5W of power when the backlight is turned off, saving on energy.

Cylon Engineering Centre

The Cylon Engineering Centre (CEC) is a set of software applications that allows all aspects of controllers and sites to be designed, configured, tested, engineered, commissioned and maintained in the most energy efficient manner.

CEC offers a secure and user friendly graphical interface for creating control strategies, setting up and configuring BACnet objects including datalogs, alarms and time schedules. The online programm-ing allows a site to be engineered in real time and changes to become instantly effective.

THE CYLON END-TO-END SOLUTION PROVIDES FOR A MORE ROBUST SYSTEM. WITH THE ADVANTAGE OF PROGRAMMING DISTRIBUTED ACROSS THE CONTROLLER NETWORK THERE ARE LESS POINTS OF FAILURE THAN A SYSTEM THAT DEPENDS ON A SINGLE PROGRAMMING DEVICE.

BACnet Discovery ToolThe discovery tools allows users to see all live BACnet devices, objects and properties on the network via CEC.

NB-ProNB-Pro, created by American Auto-Matrix and available via the CEC, is a generic commissioning environment for BACnet controllers. Using NB-Pro, users can set up and configure devices accessing all BACnet objects and services.

Strategy SimulationA Simulation Mode is available in the CEC, which allows the operation of a Strategy to be simulated without requiring a controller to be connected. This enables design of sites from an office, before attending the site to deploy the configuration.
