If so, then UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) would like to invite you to take advantage of this exciting opportunity in which you can meet with buyers, make new contacts and discover the potential for your products in Europe while exhibiting in a prestigious location. What do we mean by Eco or Sustainable design? Eco or Sustainable design is the creation of products that are made using renewable resources and are designed for reuse and recycling after their useful life. Furthermore, products made in this way are intended not to seriously impact the environment either when they are being created or when they are being used. Creative designers, for example, are perhaps the most inventive when it comes to upcycling or creating new products from old waste. Eco design may also use bi-products of industry, reducing the amount of waste being dumped in landfill, or may harness new sustainable materials or production techniques. Other aspects of sustainable design could include sourcing and transportation, use of energy in production or replacing short-life consumer products with longer-life, more durable products. Heritage and value is also a consideration: products which preserve local heritage and skills, promote service and experience as an alternative to consumerism and advocate social or environmental change. What are the opportunities? The international journey towards a low carbon economy is building momentum and the transition is creating enormous opportunities for UK businesses with the expertise to deliver energy and resource efficient solutions.
