Ulnar Osteotomy Compression PlateTM
Plate Application
• ExposeboneintheintervalbetweentheECUandFCU.
• Applyplateonbone.Ensurethatthetwosmallholesonthesideoftheplatearevisible.
• Positionplatetoavoiddistalimpingementduringshortening. • Insertone3.2mmscrewintheslottedholeattheendfarthest
fromtheosteotomysite,andthree3.2mmscrewsontheoppositesideofplate,startingwiththeendscrewhole.
Guide and Pins
• PlacetheCombinationDrill(CD)Guideontheplate.
• Insertashort1.6mm(0.062”)K-wireflushalongthebackwallofthepinslotintheCDGuideandthroughonecortex.
• RepeatwithlongerK-wireandremoveCDGuide.
Osteotomy
• Selecttheappropriate‘A’guidebasedontheplannedresection(2,3,4,5mm)andinsertintotheplate.Holdguidewithboneclampor1.6mmK-wire(seeTips).
• Makecutwithasawbladeof0.4mmthickness.Irrigateliberally.
• Remove‘A’guide,insert‘B’guide,andmakesecondcut. Removebonewafer.
Application of Compression Clamp
• InserttheCompressionClampintotheholeonthefixededgeoftheplate.
• AdjusttheclampsotheK-wiresleeveisjustbelowthecentralaxisoftheulnaandawayfromtheosteotomysite.
• Inserta1.6mm(0.062”)K-wirethroughthesleeveengagingthefarcortex.

Compression of the Osteotomy
• Loosenthescrewintheslottedholeonly1/4 turn.
• ShortenulnawithCompressionClamp.Useaboneclampforaddedcompressionofosteotomysite.
• Checkbothsidesofosteotomysiteforbonecoaptation.
Prepare Lag Screw Hole
• Re-applyCDGuideanddrilllagscrewholeusing2.3mm(red)drillandguide.
• RemoveCDGuide.
• Measuretothelongsideofthehole.
• Useabonetaptoensurethatlagscrewiseasytoinsert.
Insert Lag Screw
• Insertlagscrewensuringpenetrationoffarcortex.
• Re-tightencorticalscrewinslottedholewatchingthatosteotomyremainscompressed.
Final Fixation
• Inserttheremainingcorticalscrews.
• RemoveK-wiresandclamps.
