Decadent chocolate orange cookies, these are simple to bake but the taste and smell of these cookies is one that will bring everyone to the table....no matter how busy the kids seem the moment these are ready they are too! The kids love these with milk and the recipe makes plenty for their friends as well...

You will need: -• 2 cups all-purpose flour• 2 sticks butter (softened)• 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)• 3/4 cup granulated sugar• 1/3 cup cocoa• 2 whole eggs (beaten)• 1 tbsp vanilla extract• 1 tsp orange zest• 1 tsp baking soda• 1 tsp salt• 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips (half semi-sweet and half white chocolate) and a

further 1/3 cup of chocolate chips for topping the cookies

This is a great recipe to do with kids as it is so quick and easy to prepare, quick to bake and great to eat warm...after a week of homeschool these are a great chocolate indulgence...

First Cream the butter with the granulated and soft brown sugar until the mixture is soft and fluffy, this will take around 5 minutes. An electric mixer really makes a difference here!

Then add the beaten eggs, vanilla and orange zest...smells delicious...Now mix until combined.

Next in a separate bowl mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

Then add this to the mixture until just combined. Now comes the part my kids are most interested in the chocolate chips! You can just chop up a chocolate bar into chunks if you do not have any chocolate chips. I like to use a combination of semi-sweet and white chocolate chunks. Now all you have to do is mix or if you want a work out, fold these into the mixture..! Remember to save some to pop onto the top of each cookie before they are baked...as if there wasn't enough chocolate already...this will make the chocolate really stand out in the cookies.

Now it is time to place some plastic wrap on top of the mixture and refrigerate it for 30 minutes whilst you get to sit back and relax...Then remove from the refrigerator and drop one tbsp of mixture onto you baking mat or parchment paper, leaving space for the cookies to spread and place the remainder of the chocolate chips onto the top of the mixture.

Bake for 10 minutes and once removed from the oven leave to cool for 5 minutes as the cookies will harden and set as they cool.

As soon as they have set place on a wire rack to cool completely or if you have kids around...enjoy whilst they are still a little warm...milk is definitely the way to go here...!x♥x
