make up k-os’ musical DNA. It's an affirmation that “the forces

which pull you down are simply put there to inspire you to rise

above them” and promises to be a more stripped-down, holisticeffort than its highly conceptual predecessor, 2012’s double-LP

opus Black on Blonde. However, the rock-vs. rap dialectic at

that album’s core still guides k-os on a more philosophical level:

it’s not just a question of reconciling disparate musical styles, but

of differing workflow strategies. To be k-os in 2015 is to find the

happy medium between hip-hop’s penchant for rapid-fire releases

and perpetual stylistic mutation with the more measured approach

and timeless aspirations of rock ‘n’ roll artists—all while

engineering his music for a post-EDM pop landscape that has not

only changed listeners’ tastes, but their very physiology. k-os’s

insightful approach to music making has proven he is an artistwith boundless limits, and certainly not one that appeases to

fluctuating mainstream trends, in which his 2005 Grammy

Nomination can attest. Over the span of his career, k-os has gone

twice platinum, toured with Drake, recorded with The Chemical

Brothers and won multiple JUNO awards, plus is double-digits

deep with other prestigious nominations. But that is nothing to

how he has evolved with each new release.

Oh Wonder are London‐based duo Anthony and Josephine. They are currently ten months into their debut project, which sees them

releasing one track every month for a year on SoundCloud, culminating in an album release in September and debut live shows. All ten

garnered nearly 11 million streams on their SoundCloud

Oh Wonder was initially created as an outlet for Anthony &

Josephine to showcase and challenge their songwriting

skills. Both admirers of the art of composing a song, they

heard in their own right. This inadvertently innovative

approach to releasing music, with its disregard for the

typical album campaign, has garnered substantial interest from an international audience who eagerly await each month’s song, much

Cécile composed five original songs for ‘For One To Love.’ Each of

these tunes explore the album’s underlying themes and display

romanticism, and penetrating honesty. The thematic elements

continue to grow with a smoldering take on Burt Bacharach’s

bygone “Wives and Lovers” and “Growlin’ Dan” by Blanche

Calloway, the first woman to lead an all‐male orchestra. “What’s

The Matter Now,” originally popularized by Bessie Smith, is a

juxtaposition of feel versus subject matter: a plea for fair treatment

enclosed in a playful blues. “Le Mal De Vivre,” written by French

singer Barbara in 1966, is a stark ballad performed by Cécile in

French.

Cécile was born in Miami, Fl and studied French law, baroque and

jazz vocal performance in Aix‐En‐Provence before winning the 2010

Thelonious Monk competition.

Borderlands finally available on double vinyl for the firstime including a bonus track.

Borderlands was relased in 1999 with John Everall, Teresa M(also painter and author of the original cover) and Jhonn Bala

(COIL) on the first track, "Grief" with an original text by WilliamHope Hodgson over an ominous wave of sound.

This album is finally available on double vinyl, including a bontrack, the eight tracks here are pretty typical for TACTILE:rumbling/buzzing drone pieces with a personal atmosphericvision so cold and worm at the same time, each individual tradoes have a certain tonal nature and feel. "Borderlands" workwell as a whole, in fact I believe it is meant to be taken in as olong piece. Developmental drones, slightly higher degree ofvariations, perfect background for Balance's spoken words. Tmusic seems to be hypnotic and intentionally desolate, sombeand emotionally bleak.

Syracuse's Bleak will be releasing their debut full length this

summer on Hex Records. The members, all mainstays of the

hardcore/ metal/ punk scene in town, have been crushing

eardrums in various other bands before coming together to form

Bleak two years ago. Since that time they have released a

couple demos, splits, and an EP while touring consistently

throughout the East Coast and Midwest. Their debut full-length,

"We Deserve Our Failures" was recorded this Spring at

Watchmen Studios in Buffalo, NY with Doug White at the helm

One of the world’s legendary conductors, Seiji Ozawa celebrates his 80th

birthday in September 2015. To celebrat

this disc of all‐new Ravel recordings features one of the composers he has been most closely associated with ove

his long career.

As a student of Charles Munch and Pierre Monteux, Seiji Ozawa studied with two of the 20th

century’s greatest

exponents of Ravel. In the 1970s he recorded a benchmark set of the complete orchestral works for DG with the

Boston Symphony during his record‐breaking 29 year tenure with the orchestra.

These new recordings derive from the Saito Kinen Festival in Japan with world‐class soloists – leading American

mezzos Isabel Leonard in L’enfant et les sortilèges and Susan Graham in Shéhérazade – and a hand‐picked orchest

of the world’s finest players from Berlin, Vienna, Boston, Cleveland, New York and Philadelphia.

The recording of L’enfant et les sortilèges marked Seiji Ozawa’s first full return to conducting after recovering from

surgery for life‐threatening cancer in 2013. One of the performances was given in the presence of the Emperor an

Empress of Japan who had journeyed to the city of Matsumoto especially for the occasion.
