Report for Workshop on Seaweeds Introduction, Cultivation and Products 2 nd May 2016, Bachok Marine Research Station, Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences (IOES), University of Malaya, Bachok Kelantan The Workshop on Seaweeds Introduction, Cultivation and Products (Bengkel Pengenalan Rumpai Laut, Pengkulturan dan Produk Rumpai Laut ) was successfully organized by the Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences (IOES), University of Malaya (UM), in association with the Equitable Society Research Cluster, University of Malaya with the aim of bringing together the researchers, potential seaweed farmers, local/ coastal communities and government officers in Malaysia to introduce the University of Malaya Grand Challenge Sub – Programme B: Development of Offshore and Onshore Systems for Cultivation of Selected Seaweeds (Leaded by Professor Dr Phang Siew Moi) and Sub – Programme C: Socio- Economic Assessment and Impact of High Value-Added Products Derived From Seaweed (Leaded by Associate Professor Dr Hanafi Hussin to the local and coastal communities at Bachok, Kelantan. The workshop was held at the Bachock Marine Research Station, Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences, University of Malaya, Kampung Kuala Rekang, Bachok, Kelanatan, 2 May 2016. Twenty four participants including potential seaweed farmers, local/ coastal communities, researchers and postgraduate students from Malaysia attended the workshop. Lectures were delivered in the training workshop were as follows:
