Howard Cavner (417) 693-2492 HowardCavner@missouristate.edu Student organization receives grant to increase programs SPRINGFIELD—United Ministries in Higher Education at Missouri State University has received a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. for $100,000. The grant is part of a national initiative to strengthen campus ministries in public universities. United Ministries in Higher Education is a student organization dedicated to helping college students make connections between their academic and spiritual lives. The grant will help create programs on campus for mentoring opportunities. Rev. Howard Cavner, United Ministries of Higher Education campus minister, said the grant is a game changer for the organization. “New partnerships continue to emerge that will allow us to assist students in discerning a call to ministry,” Cavner said. “Participating in our Lilly programs will provide students with mentoring that will enhance their education at Missouri State University and future faith driven experiences.”
