detection of vehicle presence, position and speed, as well as
measurement of statistic traffic data. A proven all weather traffic
sensor for intersection and highway applications.
Intersection monitoring and control systems
Stop bar detection Queue length measurement
Advance detection (long range) Red light running Loop replacement
Features
Precisely measures target position (x,y) and speed (x,y)for each object
Tracks and classifies up to 64 objects simultaneously(vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians)
Operates for 4 lanes (and more), up to 240 meters(787 feet)
Automatically detects direction of traffic flow
Detects vehicle presence for use at intersections
Measures per lane vehicle volume, occupancy, 85thpercentile, gap, headway and more
On board self-calibration and diagnostics
All-weather operation; Small, lightweight, robust
Maintenance free
Replaces multiple other sensors
How it works
UMRR-0A is a 24GHz Radar sensor projecting a low powermicrowave beam on the road and capturing all objectswithin its coverage. The applied Radar principle allows realtime direct measurement of range, speed and azimuth angleof all reflectors simultaneously. Detection happens far out atlong range (240m) and 20 times per second, the data aretracked (filtered) over time. As a result all objects in the fieldof view will be reliably detected and reported with excellentprecision.
Installation is possible at road side, at the corner of an inter-
section, on a mast arm or gantry directly on top of the roadlanes.
For 4 lanes and more, up to 4 measuring points along eachlane (total 16) may be configured. A measuring point is a linethat is crossing the lane at a 90 degree angle. The lines maybe used as detection points, effectively representing inducti-ve loops for measuring vehicle presence near intersections.
The statistics function provides per lane volume, occupancy, classification, vehicle presence, wrong way detection andmore.
The sensor may be used as a single standalone unit or
multiple sensors can be connected in a network such asmay be applicable in a four way intersection.
Four antenna versions are available for optimum coverageat different installations; five interface options (CAN, RS485,Ethernet (POE), WiFi and relay contacts) are available.
