December 2017
DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
Welcome to the UMTI Newsletter!
As a UM research institute, we continued to conduct quality
collaborative research on Arctic shipping, climate change

numerous outreach activities, including knowledge workshops,
Speaker Series, and International Exchange Program. Moreover,
we resumed the Certificate in Logistics (CLog) Program and
introduced a new Book Series for Transport Research. We also
welcome 2 new staff, 5 new Associates, and 2 new Student Associates. In retrospect, it has been a busy but very
