CMMI Level 5, 2nd Time BACKGROUND
Test ranges availability:
Exo-atmospheric interception testing requires generally huge test
ranging facilities due both target and interceptor trajectories.
Test ranges for interception testing at high altitudes for target
ranges above 1500 km are highly limited around the world.
Cost and schedule constrains:
Targets have significant impact to the interception test preparation
and conducting (in both cost and schedule terms)
Flexible and Capable for Tailoring Targets are Required Flexible and Capable for Tailoring Targets are Required

CMMI Level 5, 2nd Time IAI-MLM METHOD
The unique patented IAI-MLM method for conducting
interception tests enables the creation of a generic solution
for interception tests execution.
According to this method:
The ground, air and space safety issues during the interception test
are dramatically reduced.
Moreover, the generation of target and interceptor debris may be
reduced even tailored for specific interception test objectives.

CMMI Level 5, 2nd Time REQUIRED TEST RANGE SHORTENING
Simulated threat (black) vs. IAI/MLM target (red) trajectories
The test range requirements for interception may be tailored to specific
defense system's acquisition range by special target trajectory shaping.
“Wasted" range of target trajectory below the horizon (over the defensesystem sensors acquisition range) is dramatically reduced

CMMI Level 5, 2nd Time TARGET MISSILE (TYPE 1)
The dummy target consists of two
inflatable balloons:
The cylindrical balloon ejected from the
carrier shall emulate the specified booster
of the target.
The conical balloon is tailored accordingly
to the specified emulated RV geometry
that shall be inflated around the carrier

The target missile is used only as a carrier for injection of a dummy target to theplace, directionality and velocity at the relevant partrelevant part of exo-atmosphere trajectory
of the simulated threat in which the defense system is active.

At the special cases of very strictly range field safety problems Type 2
target configuration the can be used:
Both inflatable structures - RV and Booster can be ejected from the carrier.
This method avoids creating any debris during the interception test.

CMMI Level 5, 2nd Time THREAT’S WARHEAD EMULATION
The compact rigid target's front section (typical warhead sized) emulates
the warhead within the enemy RV.
For a successful interception, the interceptor should hit the exact aim
point of the target. Only at this case a positive system's look/kill
assessment will be achieved

CMMI Level 5, 2nd Time THREAT’S SIGNATURES EMULATION
Cylindrical and conical parts of the dummy target are capable to manifest all
needed signatures for the defense system under test (RCS, IR, space
dynamics, maneuvering, geometry: size & shape etc.).
Any predefined aspect angle to a chosen direction or dynamics (spinning
rate or tumbling rate) can be accurately controlled.

CMMI Level 5, 2nd Time FLEXIBILTY
The target enables representing a
variety of threats.
Any threat can be simulated with no
impact to the carrier missile.
Relevant part of the long range threat’s
trajectory can be presented at shorter
test range.
Unmatched unique flexibility of building
of an ultra wide spectrum of threats with
different combined end characteristics
regarding the trajectories' kinematics,
RCS, IR signature, geometry (size and
shape) and maneuvering.
