In a world of no one asking anything,everybody owning the same symbol,

and moving with the sirens, even thoughmany of the siren towers are broken andnot functioning, between the barracks,dark energy rooms, solar panels, meltdepots, picker ramps, hidden tunnels,sonic towers, coilers, fre poles, altar,

techbase, portal, home of “mecha”and Kelley`s Tower, with Water of Lifefrom the wells which are stored in Life-water silos, Under the Dark Sun revealsa “blackened” world of “mecha” pilots,

crow masters, “froggers”, red eyed deer,mutated crocodiles, shadows between theold trees in the dark forests, robo-hounds,scorpions and much, much more. A windyworld that is in perpetual twilight, neverbright, never wet but always “covered”

with the Water of Life.

* a “general view” sketch of some of the “environments”:

1) A scene of units including a “mecha” looking over the hills to their destination: the village, which is being lit by the dark sun.

2) Similar to scene one, but on a dierent scale and angle - showcases the dark forest and far away from it, the Ice Region.

3) A party consisting of a “scorpion mecha” and stag man looking over the hills to see the village state and ice mountain.

4) The Ice Region: looking over this point, one can see some of the region’s creatures moving around, while in the distance, thevillage and forest can be clearly seen.

5) Peering from over the highest building in the village, one can see several energy points – which allow people to harness thatenergy, and build towers and houses around them.

6) From the Air Balloons -looking down to inspect the village. Again, one can see bustling buildings full of activity.

A ruin in heavy dust issurrounded by a group ofvillagers. They’re cleaning,lifting rocks and addingnew ones.

A “portal” starts to takeshape. The villagers stare

Other buildings show up:the solar panels, the“picker” ramps.

Men and women aregathered together,in fear, at the semi-opened village gates.

The group discovers anew ruin, the stones.The stones are heavilycarved with symbols.

(Voice Over/Text):“What we discoveredjust left us with morequestions”.And then again, we seesome similar symbols

when they discover therobot-like parts.

The villagers now look intowhat lies beyond, the darkof the forest.

The focus is now in thedark.

The dark is now beingripped apart by our hero’s

“mecha” as he advances.

He’s now a grown up adult.

The “mecha” advancesclimbing a mountain, we seedark forests surrounding it,and ice far away.

The “mecha” crosses a river,always being watched byred and white eyes from theshadows.

The “mecha” stops ata ground opening thatemanates light.

A mechanical sound and arelease of pressure fromthe “mecha” shows that therobot is opening. The herojumps out, we see his legs

touching the ground at theedge of the opening.

The same ngers, resemblingthe scene from thebeginning, are touchingthe mud in the exact sameposition.

Our hero’s looking downcurious. A shadow growsfrom below, covering ourhero’s face that follows theshadow with his eyes. Hedoesn’t look afraid.

Zoom in to his face. He has asmile of determination andcondence.

By his side, a couple of unitscome to help: a “janissary”,an archer, a crow master,a “frogger”, and others.They stand ground against

whatever is coming. Theimage fades out.

t all starts with ablueish and dark

world. What we see fromhe beginning is a kind of “arcticblue” world, where everything is

pale, faded blue and nothing ishiny or bright- from the faces,

buildings, walls, even the treesor whatever we can see. Thiss mainly because of the water

of life. It’s the main core of theunits, and we learn that waters used to produce the units butt also mutates the world as

we learn about the crocodilesor other creatures which are

ected by it. It covers thewhole world as far as we see.t’s in the air. It’s on t he surface

of the things, throughout theenvironment. It’s like fog or avery low density snow is falling,but it’s not raining, it’s alwayshere. It never stops and you

never get wet from it, but it is stillike the normal water as we can

understand. It covers everythingike a heavy “smoke” under the

dark sun.

t’s also windy and always inwilight. As we know, the sun islways in the same position andhe world doesn`t turn aroundt. There is no day or nightimes. As it’s now always “dark”

we assume that something isbetween the world and theun, or something has already

happened to the sun and that’swhy there’s no day nor nightunder it.

Is this ourworld?Beyond what we see, thereare two very important thingsUnder the Dark Sun. First, thescientists discover a „space“,a gap in „snaps“ when theyexamine the neurons’ actionswhile watching, monitoringhuman brain’s activity, whichshows the dierences betweenwhen we imagine a thing andwhen we actually see or taste orhear a thing in reality. The dataor whatever you call it, followsa route. Millions of neuronswork together to transfer the„information“ at almost thesame moment as they, we,

know. However, they realize thatevery bit of information or datathat is transferred to processsomewhere at some momentalong its way, goes for nothingand comes back like nothinghappened.

Is this somethingthat has alreadyhappened?

To me, yes. I believe that there isnothing so generic or so certainabout what we assume. Whatwe think we know and what weassume the truth is, it may becompletely dierent actually.The God we believe in or gods, orwhatever we assume as creator,if there is any, could and shouldbe much more than we canthink or imagine. Think about ifall the “information” through

time, matter and energy, likethe gap in transmitting the data,processes by ourselves in anotherdimension and we reect it asthe whole “life” together here asour known world, together. Asthe receiver and the messenger,maybe the man is between all ofthis, alone but not alone. Perhapsthe “truth” is not what weassume it is, it is perhaps muchmore than that.

Is it the future oris it just anotherparallel world orcosmos story?

It’s today’s world. There are some

experiments about human view.You know the story of peoplewho get glasses which show theworld upside down and theywear it for some time. After awhile they believe that the worldwe live in, the shapes, the thingsare upside down, just as a normalthing. The brain, or our mindshapes itself for and into theconditions he, she, it is put in.

We went to schools, learnt towrite and read, some of us can

even paint and do other things.However, in a general view,when I look at t oday’s world,I see people who are raised tobe lawyers or doctors, or otherprofessionals. Some others areraised to collect the tobaccofrom the eld. In a way, wealso do not ask questions orjust forget, ignore some of thequestions. Also, love and manyother feelings are shaped viapatterns in an expected manner.In especially issue #0 and #1,we’ve been introduced a worldwhere almost everything isgeneric and moves in patterns.When I look at it, I see big tracow in big streets. I see people

waking up at 06:30. I see coee.I see TV, Internet. Is this a futureworld. Could be.. Is this a parallelworld, maybe.. perhaps, not.

 What about the“Janissary” or the“Archer” or thegeneral feelingof the buildings?Are they relatedto the “OttomanEmpire”?

Anything could be related withanything from the history or

today’s world, because it’smainly us. What we create today,what are we today, is us.The “Janissary”, the “Archer”,and others- they are all soulless.Fatherless. What we understandis they serve. They are not likeus humans but units. Producedunits. When we see them in thisway, the question is why andhow are they like this. Whomdo they serve and what is themeaning of all of this.There are some things like

“pickers” or the portal or we seea big hand of a giant robot likething under the dirt or we knowthat there are some ruins, bigruins around, with some symbolson them. “Pickers” go under theworld, so it seems.Do we really know?Also water of life, usable waterof life comes via wells, againfrom under the surface and wesee silos to process them, we seebarracks and some other type offactory-like buildings around.

Also, for sure, the sirens.. Eventhough they are broken and notall of them are working, it seemsunder the dark sun there is an

order or at least should be anorder for some of the “units”regarding them. Unlike ourlives, waking up with the sun,going to bed at night, dierentfrom us, they “move” with thesirens. Who directs them withthe sirens and why, are thetwo main questions. But moreimportant to me, personally,what I would like to know morethan these two questions is, whythey “obey” the sirens, eventhough some of them are brokenand why nobody’s questioningabout them. In fact, whynobody’s questioning anythingand accepting as it goes or“arranged” before their birth.

Can or will the

hero be able tosucceed?

We’ll see. It’s not about directlyhis or anybody’s success orfailure. There is more to thestory than that.

It seems dierentthan most ofthe comic books

or adventurestories, or somemovie plots aboutfuture.

It’s dierent and it’s not only acomic book or the adventuresof one or more characters orying heroes around. It’s awhole world with attractive,ashy views and to me, of courseeverybody tells his or her storyin the end, with his or her views,but the big story behind all ofthis, under the surface, beyondand under the dark sun itself and

what happened really and whatis happening “there” and whatwill take place, is greater thanany other story that has everbeen told.

So, you believe inyourself about itsgreatness.

Sure thing. It’s not about whatI believe. It’s about what it is.Many believe that comic booksare for children or for youngages. I don’t believe in that. Ifyou tell a story about a man withsuper powers, with red tightsor another hero with somekind of mask, or a waving cape,then maybe the action, what

is happening, calls for youngerviewers or readers. However,there are many dierent genres,and there are many otherstories, which have some reallydeep meanings and messages,which are more suitable forolder readers, even if they arecomic books.For example, if you tell a storywith the world of humankind’sslavery by monetary system,about alarm clocks, smartphones, social media, internet,

when he’s not supposed to doso. Like falling in love. Yes, getit as a spoiler. Call it chemie,call it as an everyday issue orexplain it with evolution theoryor about sex. It doesn’t matter,as long as we live, we live bythis, ourselves, the only receiver,receptor which we rely on:ourselves. We try to survive andtransfer us for the future in time.However, what about the timeouter space or the time whenwe are having fun, time whichpasses very slowly when we arein pain, the whole relativity. Ifyou’re looking for magicians,magic, or ying men: we havemore than that. Let’s make it

happen together and I’ll showyou where it happens.

It doesn’t signify any one“thing” alone. It gives somedirect answers about what couldhappen. Indeed, it makes youthink and ask, why? What couldhappen?

In this rst comic,what role do the‘Sirens’ play?

The name of the preview issue,issue zero is “Sirens” as thesiren towers and the sirens playa very important role under thedark sun. There’s no day nornight, also there is no time inthis world we know in our lives.We wake up mainly by the sun,or in the morning, then we go towork and return in the eveningor night, sleep and another daystarts. There in the UtDS world,it goes with sirens. Almost allroutine goes with sirens. Thestrange thing about them isthat some cables, or some partof them goes into underworldand some of them are broken,some of them are already as“ruins” and not functioning. Butstill, without any question, theyobey and do what’s needed withthem. As we go deeper or withthis rst issue as we introduceunder the dark sun, the worlditself, besides many veryinteresting units, environmental

things and everything about theworld, the sirens are signicantlyimportant.

How did you come upwith this new conceptof a whole dierentworld under the dark

sun?

It’s already here. It’s not anew world or a new concept. I

understand the question, if yousee a world under blue watercalled water of life, you wonderhow it is so.. and with Nicolàs(Colacitti), this could be just ourinterpretation.

Is “Under the DarkSun” only intended tobe a comic book, or doyou have other plansfor it, such as videogames, etc.?

It’s only the beginning. In fact,I have already prepared theGame Development Document,very detailed document of 86pages to show the programmers,developers, artists what to doto start and next steps for therst video game. However,before that I would like to havethe animated movie. I realizedthat for both the game and themovie, it would take too muchtime, work and funds. I wouldneed to work with four dierentteams all together, and the timeneeded is at least 18 months,plus a budget of nearly 1 millionUSD for the game I would like tocreate. Indeed, I have never beenafraid of work, but for funds, Idon’t have them yet. So, I wouldlike to start from scratch, showthe people and share with thepeople- the UtDS world, thesun, the units, and all. If they

are interested in it, I can go onwith my plans. If not, I must roba bank or two! We will see. I’mjust joking but as I was writingthe GDD (Game DevelopmentDocument), one night I heardsome news about a bankrobbery. On the same night,I had some oers from somedeveloper companies to workwith and the planned budgethad already reached 600k. Thestolen amount that the robbersgot from the bank was 200k. I

’s a special introductory issue,collector’s edition, limited inrint but free digitally to share,n intro issue. It’s called “zero”ecause it’s a preview, alsozero” because it‘s the beginningf all, it will all start from zero,so zero because it’s free. Free

important and most surprisingevent towards the end of therst part would be the girl. Youknow about the blueish part-because of lack of the sunshineand because of water of life,almost everything in this worldis “pale”, blueish, faded, underthe twilight. But you know what,we nd in this issue that our“mecha” pilot sees somebodywho does not have that fadedface. A face that seems like it iscoming from a warmer place.Like somewhere near, underthe dark sun but maybe moreunderneath that he had everseen his life.

What’s yourpurpose?

This.. Your questioning.. Everyquestion comes after at leastone thought, wondering about.I want you to ask. If you ask, youwill get the answer. If you askabout the comic book series, Iwant to make two video gamesand then the movie, to show, toshare it.

What’s the mainplan for Under theDark Sun?

First, the distribution of issue#0, making it reach as manypeople as possible. Gathering afan base, and testing whetherpeople like it and getting theanswer. Whether everyone isinterested in this and will wantmore about it or not. If theanswer will be yes, I want to goon with the issue #1 for sure.Simultaneously if I can see thedemand, I would like to showthe video game trailer rstand then the rest. First, I wantto make it possible to reach

anybody who is interested.First as a comic book, issue #0,preview issue, including thesome of the artwork where onecan see some of the elementsof the game also, the literal andtechnical script of the “part” ofthe story we present in issuezero to show how capable weare. Especially important forthe next steps. Like making atrailer for the video game. Or,making a movie afterwards.Why? Because it deserves it.There’s much more Under theDark Sun and the questions mustbe answered. Because it’s hereand it’s something incredible andawesome. It must be known.

What about thecrowdfundingproject?

We are exclusively on Indiegogoand the main reason to make therst issue with a crowdfundingcampaign is to build our own“army” of readers for it. It’s notjust related to nances but ofcourse, the possible funds wemight raise would give us a bigboost about what we want todeliver. It’s about results and forthe best results we need peoplelike us, around us. We should beamong them to survive.

There’s no yingman, no secretmagicians, etc.?

No, the magic is the real thing,here, the world, Under the DarkSun, itself. The crows, sirens,the ruins near the village, wherethe “pickers” go is the magichere. Most importantly, one’squestioning about himself andthe world he lives in, especially
