Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750)

Bach was a German composer, organist, harpsichordist, violist, and violinist whose sacredand secular works for choir, orchestra, and soloinstruments drew together the strands of theBaroque period and brought it to its ultimatematurity. - Bach's musical style arose from hisextraordinary fluency in contrapuntal inventionand motivic control, his flair for improvisationat the keyboard, his exposure to South German,North German, Italian and French music, and hisapparent devotion to the Lutheran liturgy.

George Frideric Handel (1685 -1759)

Handel was a German-British Baroque composer. He is famous for his operas, oratorios, andconcertos. Handel was born in Germany in thesame year as Johann Sebastian Bach. His worksinclude Messiah, Water Music, and Music for theRoyal Fireworks. He was strongly influencedby the techniques of the great composers ofthe Italian Baroque and the middle-Germanpolyphonic Choral tradition.
