Through case studies, humorous stories, and examples of common challenging situations, participants will learn easy-to-implement preventive tools, strategies, and interventions for reducing anxiety, increasing self-regulation, accurate thinking, and self-monitoring. WILLIAM R. STIXRUDPh.D.

William R. Stixrud, Ph.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist and director of The Stixrud Group, and the author (with Ned Johnson) of the new best-selling book, The Self-Driven Child: The Science and Sense of Giving Your Kids More Control Over

Their Lives. He is also a member of the Adjunct Faculty of the Children’s National Medical Center, and he holds a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Behavioral Sciences, and Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Jessica Minahan, M.Ed., BCBA, is a licensed and board certified behavior analyst and special educator, as well as a consultant to schools internationally. Jessica has over 17 years of experience supporting students who exhibit challenging behavior

in urban public school systems. She is a blogger on The Huffington Post, as well as the author of The Behavior Code: A Practical Guide to Understanding and Teaching the Most Challenging Students, with Nancy Rappaport (Harvard Education Press, 2012) and author of The Behavior Code Companion: Strategies, Tools, and Interventions for Supporting Students with Anxiety-Related or Oppositional Behaviors (Harvard Education Press, 2014).
