who make the laws must obey them. There are laws that limit

what the government

can do.

Democracy:People govern themselves by

voting individually on

issues.

Unlimited Government:

Power belongs to the ruler or rulers. There are NO laws

that limit what the government

can do.

Absolute Monarchy:Kings and

Queens are born into ruling families. Their

power is inherited and

unlimited.

Balancing Our Wants and Needs

Traditional Economies• Meet the needs

based off their customs.

• Family do the same work for generations to generations

Command Economy• Government

makes all decisions

• People have NO say on what to do.

• The government tells them what and how much to produce.

Market Economy• Individual

determine themselves what to produce.

• Supply and Demand

• The individuals get to set the price.

Mixed EconomiesThey share traits of two

or more of the other

economies systems.

Industrialized Countries

• hold 97% percent of all patents ownership (right to inventions)

• Have most of manufacturing and industry

Developing Countries

• People in these countries are growing enough for their family.

• They are trying to become industrialized.
