One of the targets achieved is the number of publications indexed by Scopus.

Unhas Communication Director, Suharman Hamzah, Ph.D said (Tuesday, 01/01/2019), the number of Unhas publications during 2018 recorded in Scopus reached 720 papers.

“Until yesterday afternoon we monitored, 720 papers that the authors from Unhas lecturers and researchers have recorded on Scopus, meaning that we can achieve the publication’s performance targets,” Suharman said. Of that number, there are 5 faculties that significantly produce the most publications, namely:

- The Faculty of Engineering has 149 papers;- The Faculty of Public Health has 127 papers;- The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has 103 papers;- The Faculty of Medical has 78 papers;- The Faculty of Agriculture has 77 papers;

When viewed from the side of the author, there are 11 of the most productive writers pro-ducing Scopus publications, with details:

- Anwar Mallongi (Faculty of Public Health) with 26 papers;- Moch. Hatta (Faculty of Medicine) with 25 papers- Veni Hadju (Faculty of Public Health) with 15 papers;- Ansariadi (Faculty of Public Health), Jamaluddin Jompa (Faculty of Marine and Fisheries Sciences), Dahlang Tahir (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences), Sukri Palutturi (Faculty of Public Health) each of 13 papers;- Nurhaedar Jafar (Faculty of Public Health), Zulkifli Abdullah (Faculty of Public Health), M. Internally, Unhas actually targets 750 publications indexed by Scopus, assuming that half of the teaching staff of Unhas will produce publication papers on Scopus. Unhas Chancellor, Prof. Dwia said that the 750 papers target would be achieved because there were at least 6 international conferences that had been held at Unhas which were temporarily issued in Scopus. “If the results of the 6 international conferences are published, we will register at least 200 papers,” added Dwia.

At the end of her message, Prof. Dwia, who is holding an Umrah service, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the academicians and education staff who have worked hard with extraordinary commitment and dedication to the achievement of Unhas research and publication performance in 2018.

“The future challenges that are not easier require the existence of each role better and better quality. Stay proud to be part of Unhas, our shared house that is open, flexible and quality, “said Prof. Dwia. (*)

INTERNATIONAL OFFICE UNHAS HOSTED A SHORT STUDY PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS FROM FLINDERS UNIVERSITY

The internationalization of tertiary institutions in Indonesia is increasingly being intensified in order to improve the quality of higher education institutions that meet international standards.

For this reason, various efforts continue to be made to achieve these expectations.

One of the efforts that can be done is by building cooperation with foreign universities in the form of short study programs.

Unhas which is the largest university in eastern Indonesia has a great opportunity to hold the short study program activities.

This is evidenced by the request from Flinders University, Australia for a visit to Hasanuddin University to gain knowledge through lectures delivered by lecturers at Hasanuddin University. This of course increases the opportunity for Unhas to increase its internationaliza-tion activities.

On January 31 until 2019 February 4, 2019 Unhas hosted a short Study Program for Flinders University students.

This program aimed to introduce Flinders students to Hasanuddin University and introduce the History of

Relations between Australia and Indonesia, especially the Buginese and Makassarese tribe and introduce Culture in South Sulawesi.
