Sharon walks in the back of the room and quickly introducesherself.

Doug is facing the wall.

SHARONHi! I am Pennys moth

Doug turns around.

As soon as Sharon and Dougs eyes met, they both became hesitantand paused for a moment, looking each other intensely in the eyebefore introducing themselves and shaking hands.

DOUGHi, I UH, I UMM , well I am

PENNYMy art teacher!

DOUGRight, right, right, I am, UH, the teacher

Doug begins to lose his calm, he is very nervous and his speechsounds gibberish. Doug and Sharon are facing each other. He thenpoints to the wall with all the paintings. They both turn facingthe wall, releasing a little bit of tension.

Doug(Releasing a deep breath)

This is it, this is their first project and Ibelieve, your daughter painted this one. They hadto paint something SPECIAL

Doug points at the painting of a SMILING DOG.

SHARONOh! Nice, she, UH, has a dog.

(Nervously)

Penny is looking at her teacher and mother simultaneously, witha little suspicion, making them both even more nervous. Douglooks at his hand and rubs it against his shirt for a fewseconds and touches his forehead.

DOUGI have a little migraine

Hey, sweetie, why dont you showmommy your best drawing?

Penny turns around and walks toward a cabinet. She isLooking through a pile of art work, her back facingSharon and Doug

Doug turns his eyes toward Pennys artwork and gazes deeply.

DOUGYou know, I had a dog once. We made each othervery happy. I only took her for a walk once, afterthat, she ran away and I never saw her again.

SHARONI am sorry to hear that, that must have been,Pretty hard.

Doug looks down, and then looks Sharon in the eyes for a fewseconds.

Doug(Sadly)

She meant the world to me. Ever since she left,I never found another one as special as her.

Sharon and Doug are gazing at each other intensely, SharonsEyes are bright up with a little bit of tears

SHARONWhat if she came back, would you stillaccept her?

(Worryingly)

Doug looks at Sharon

SHARON(Interrupts)

SHARON(To Doug)

Well!, there is still hope. The lostand found animal prevention programmight be able to help you, heres their

address. Hurry up, they close in 15 minutes
