Instructions—applying online for a degree completion grant

Dear Student,

These instructions explain exactly how to apply online for a degree completion grant. For questions related directly to the scholarship and application procedure, please email stipend-internationalstudent@uni-hamburg.de.

1. When you click on the link on the website you will be directed to the following screen, where you should enter your STiNE ID.

2. Complete the online form in full and submit it electronically.

You will then receive an email confirming that we have received your submission and containing an attachment with the funding conditions. Click on the link in the email or copy and paste it into your browser and use your STiNE ID to log in again.

3. There are two different ways to log in. Both will direct you to your personal account in the Mobility Online portal.

4. The Mobility Online overview page will be displayed when you log in.

a) Please now confirm the funding conditions by clicking on “I hereby confirm that I have read and accepted the funding conditions for degree completion grants.”

b) Then click on “Forward to update.”

c) Tick the box beside “I hereby confirm that I have read and accepted the funding conditions for degree completion grants” and click on “Update.”

5. Click on “Complete / change personal details” to add or modify your personal details. In the following window, click on “Forward to update” to add or modify personal details such as your address and telephone number.

Click on “Update personal details” to confirm.

6. Once you have updated your personal details, you can upload the documents needed to apply for a degree completion grant. Click on the link to the right to upload the first document.

7. A window will then open in which you can search for your documents and upload your curriculum vitae (possible formats: PDF, GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG). When you have selected the desired file on your computer, click on “Create.”

8. Repeat this procedure to upload the other documents, one by one.

9. Either you can upload the evaluation yourself (“Evaluation 1 uploaded”) or the Department of International Affairs can do this for you (“Evaluation 1 uploaded by Program Manager”). In case of the latter, the program coordinator will tick the box as soon as the evaluations are available.

P.S. If you want to cancel your application, click on “Cancel your application” in the “General” tab. Please note, however, that this cancellation is irrevocable.
