NEWSBRIEFCENG ousts IPESR in mens volley

Coming back from a disappointing rst set,

the College of Engineering (CENG) stunned In-

stitute of Physical Education, Sports and Rec-reation (IPESR) as it fought back, 17-25, 25-7,

25-17, in the Volleyball Mens match yesterday.

The CENGians in the rst set were momen-

tarily maimed as the IPESR attacked with lash-

    ing kills, 15-8.

On the other hand, the CENGians engi-

neered a strong defence in order to control the

game but not more enough to blow away its op-

ponent, 25-17, in favor of IPESR.

From the early meltdown on the rst set, the

CENGians rose like a ring diesel as it heated

up with the leadership of Reeve Del Agre who

delivered blazing spikes that reaped 8 points,

    15-6.

Aside from this, the other CENGians sum-

moned a wall-like counter defence causing its

opponent to be pulverized at a score of 25-7.

    Having forceful offense, strong defence,

and specialized techniques, the CENGians con-

quered IPESR in the decision set of the clash

as it created a side by side placing that resulted

into a 5-point lead. However, the IPESR stood

rm as it blocked the booming shots of the lead-

ing side that created a short advantage for them.

On the dying part of the game, Del Agre ex-

ecuted rife-like kills and drives that ended the

match, 25-15, helping the CENGians advanceto the next elimination game.

Matinding depensa at pagkakaisa ang sa

tingin koy naging dahilan kung bakit kami ang

nanalo sa larong iyon, Del Agre said.Jerald Talavera

41 players injuredA total number of 41 participating athletes
