How to install an Unicable™ LNB or Multiswitch at the IDL7000(m)

1. How to connect LNB and PVR

Your Unicable™ LNB was delivered with one or more Unicable™ Splitters, just use these splitters for splitting the cable. It does not care If you use the Unicable™ splitters (Picture1) or the LNB Outputs (Picture2) on your device, both will give the same result for the signal,

but in some cases one of the ways above will help you to keep the cable length short. Do not forget that you must connect both Tuner Inputs Picture1: Unicable™ Splitter Picture2: Loop through Now there are two different points to start up with the configuration of your Unicable LNB, the difference is not very big, but the aim of this document is to describe it as good as possible.

2.1 You start directly at the beginning after receiving your PVR At the first usage you will get directly after the boot up the Quick Start Guide, this is a short installation procedure to help you to get your PVR working with your equipment. Due to the fact that this document only cares for the Unicable installation will we start at step 3/3 where you can configure your outdoor settings. Note: It´s easier to adjust the dish with a Standard LNB

2.2 Your PVR is already in usage and only the LNB was replaced

Then your PVR is already set-up with the old configuration of the previous LNB, now you just have to proceed to the outdoor settings and change the adjustments. Menu --> User Preferences --> Outdoor Settings In both cases you will now get a similar screen (depending on your previous LNB settings of 2.2)

Installation Type: In the case of an Unicable™ it´s important that you choose “Loop”. You choose “Dual” only in case of two different Unicable™ LNBs that are connected to your PVR. Tuner: Here can you switch between tuner 1 and tuner 2, this is needed because in case of Installation Type Dual, you have to set-up both tuners. LNB Type: This is the most important point, you change it to “Unicable” Picture 3: outdoor settings Motorized: Set here the settings for your motorized dish, of course only if you use one. Satellite: Choose now from a list to what satellite your dish is pointed to. LNB Feed: In case you are using a Unicable™ System for two satellites, please assign here the settings which fits your installation (A = LNB 1, B=LNB2) Now you should start the automatic LNB detection, by pressing the blue key. After this it will take some time and the PVR recognizes the Unicable™ LNB Type and will help you

with the configuration. At the result you will see that you get a new entry displayed at “Tuner1 IF” and “Channel ID”, if you set the Installation Type to “Loop”, “Tuner2 IF” and the second “Channel ID” will also be set. You PVR now knows what kind of Unicable LNB is connected to your PVR and there no need for adding the data manually. In case of “Dual”, just switch to Tuner 2 and set the LNB Type also to Unicable™. You will now see that “Tuner2 IF” and the second “Channel

ID” will be filled in automatically. Picture 4: read Unicable™ data

Note: The device with the shortest cable should get the highest frequency Note: If the box do not recognize the Unicable™ LNB or Multiswitch you can also type the frequency manually. Just by putting the frequency directly with the remote control. To know the proper frequency please consult the user manual of the Unicable™ LNB or Multiswitch you use. Your Unicable™ system is now ready for use, just leaving the Menu by pressing “Exit” on your Remote Control. If your PVR ask you if you really want to safe these changes just press the green button or “OK”.

Make sure that every device/tuner will get a different frequency
