UNIDO and SAVE FOOD program confirm participation at WPO 1 st Board Meeting 2019 They will join with WPO Board and more than 35 members in Prague from May 13-17 April 2019 – Representatives from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the SAVE FOOD initiative, from Messe Düsseldorf, confirmed their participation in WPO´s week in Prague, Czech Republic (May 13-17). UNIDO will be represented by Ali Badarneh, Assistant Director – Dept Agri-Business; Bernd Jablonowski, Global Portoflio Director Processing and Packaging at Messe Düsseldorf and founder of the SAVE FOOD initiative will represent Messe Düsseldorf. “The idea is that these two great partners of WPO participate in some activities giving input in their respective areas and listening to our message and goals regarding three central issues: circular economy, save food and food safety”, states WPO President, Pierre Pienaar. The WPO program in Prague is being organized by its local member, OBALOVÝ INSTITUT SYBA s.r.o. (www.syba.cz). “SYBA has planned an intense week of work for WPO members in Prague. This includes Working Groups meetings – Education, Marketing and Sustainability and Food Safety, a Press Conference and the WorldStar Award ceremony. The intention is also to interact, as much as possible, with local industries and members of SYBA, to spread the WPO message and to showcase the programs WPO has carried out over the past year, especially the educational ones,” completes Pienaar. As part of the program, WPO members will also have the chance of visiting the facilities of Thimm Vsetaty, part of Thimm The Highpack Group, one of the leading solutions provider for the packaging and distribution of goods.
