UNIQUE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

THE CHENGDU AMERICAN CENTER FOR STUDY ABROAD

Students applying to study at the Chengdu American Center for Study Abroad should express

interest in an internship by simultaneously completing a separate, internship application

form on the Study Abroad Program Management System (SAPMS). Likewise, students must

upload their resume, one professional photo, and one letter of recommendation for review

by G-MEO and by the receiving organization. In some cases an online or in-person interview

may be requested.

Students accepted to the program are eligible to apply to one or more internships available.

The schedule and duration of the internships vary from a few hours per week, to weekends,

to short-term research and summer-long internships. Students with specific areas of interest

not offered by the Center can also place a request to help find an internship, but it should be

noted that neither internship placement nor fulfilling specific requests is guaranteed. When

appropriate, students will receive a letter of recommendation after completion of a

successful internship.

Serve as one of six camp counselors at one of ADI sports

Summer Camps

Supervise a group of approximately 10-15 children and

accompany them to lessons and activities;

Assist in helping children develop interpersonal skills,

teamwork and sportsmanship;

Identify and respond to camper behavior issues;

Assist in maintaining accurate program records including

incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily

attendance;

Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated

with the camp program;

Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated

with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is

not limited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and

their whereabouts at all times;

Qualified candidates could also lead activities such as

English, Drama, Sports, Life Skills and Music;

Organize and complete a dedicated project related to their

field of expertise (based on candidates study area);



Write follow-up reports and articles on the experience at

ADIsports Summer Camps;

Assist in preparing for ADIsports fall semester classes

including scheduling, communication with schools, and

general organization;

Help plan and prepare for ADIsports Summer Sports Camp

and Summer Basketball Camp;

Create list of materials and help with ordering equipment;

Design brochures and marketing materials for promotional

purposes;

Utilize WeChat and Weibo to promote ADIsports services;

Visit local schools to distribute flyers to parents and

children;

Edit and translate various documents;

Assist in keeping data management systems up-to-date

including registration forms and contact information;

Supervise the implementation of the first week of the

Summer Sports Camp;

Requirements:

1. Study areas desired include education, business, marketing

and life sciences;

2. Candidates must be responsible, patient, creative, organized,

detail-oriented and enthusiastic;

3. An interest or experience in sport is preferred but not

necessary;

4. Fluent in Chinese(preferred but not necessary) and English;

5. Education classes or experience in camp, youth programs,

recreation, working with children, or in a related field;

6. Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to

accomplish tasks with little direct supervision;

7. Strong organizational and communication skills;

8. Must be able to work well both independently and in a team

and, likewise, in a multi-cultural environment;

9. Skills in computer design software programs such as Adobe

Photoshop/Illustrator a plus;
