1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed.

Business cards are used to promote the business for a cheap price. They can be a useful tool for a business because if you cant tell the person the business you can just give the card to remind them. Most business cards include a range of contact information such as fax, phone, cantact and location help so that people who have been given the card can get hold of the business holder easier and more quickly. In my business card I included all of this information so that the person knows everything we need to know. I also included my name and job title so that if they have something to say they can get hold of me easily. Finally, I thought about the design carefully and made sure I choose a design which looked smart to go with the colour of the other things involved and a colour scheme which matched the colours in my logo so that it looks proper and looks real and not a scam.

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed.

LetterLetterheads are important so that we can send letters to the customer to give the infomation. If a company has letters sent out on headed paper then it shows that the company is the proper company you expect it to come from and not fraud. Letterheads should include all the addresses and other details that matches the other objects involved. These things are important so that the person receiving the letter can read the letter and got hold of the person if they don’t have a card. My letterhead included my logo and the design and colour scheme matched the ones on my business card. I did this so it helps my business look smart. I also included a range of contact information so that they can get hold of the business.

NewsletterNewsletters are important because they show information about the products you might sell and makes people want to buy them. They are often free and are used to give information. A good newsletter should include a wide range of articles to keep the interested so that the person reading it can read an article that is evolved to the business. Newsletters should also include articles involved to the company so that my newsletter can double up to give me some free advertising. My newsletter included a range of articles which all included all different technological news around the globe. It also included page numbers and points of interest so that the reader is engaged to the newsletter. Finally, it included a lot of information about my company such as my infomation on the details on the business and where we are based and to keep them informed about what’s going on.

1.2 I can describe how to change page design and layout to increase effectiveness of a publication.

I have used the templates available in publisher because they were free and easy to use. They also gave me a wide range of choices and enabled me to choose a design and stick to the same design for all of my publications. With each design you were able to choose a colour scheme. I chose a colour scheme which matched my logo so everything looked as professional as it could with as little work as possible. If I actually had my own business, I would want to find ways to save time and publisher definitely would help. If one of my designs or colours didn’t match the others then my work wouldn’t have looked as good because it wouldn’t look professional.

2.3 Describe how copyright constraints affect use of own and others’ information. Copyright law means that if you put something on the internet, it keeps it from other users using it without permission. It is important to follow copyright law because if you don’t then you can get sent to prison and in a lot of trouble. In my work I followed copyright law by making sure that I included the weblinks of all articles I used. By doing this I was able to copy from the web but with great care. I also followed copyright when I made my logo as the design came from vista print. I followed this by not using anything of vista print.

2.3 Describe how copyright constraints affect use of own and others’ information.

• Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country, that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights to its use and

distribution, usually for a limited time, with the intention of enabling the creator (e.g. the photographer of a photograph or the author of a book) to receive compensation for their intellectual effort.

• Copyright is a form of intellectual property, applicable to any expressed representation of a creative work. It is often shared among multiple authors, each of whom holds a set of rights to use or license the work, and who are commonly referred to as rightsholders. These rights frequently include reproduction, control overderivative works, distribution, public performance, and "moral rights" such as attribution.

• Software copyright is used by proprietary software companies to prevent the unauthorized copying of their software. Free and open source licenses also rely on copyright law to enforce their terms. For instance, copyleft licenses impose a duty on licensees to share their modifications to the copylefted work with the user or copy owner under some circumstances. No such duty would apply had the software in question been in the public domain.

• Copywrite myths• "If it doesn't have a copyright notice, it's not copyrighted."• This was true in the past, but today almost all major nations follow the Berne copyright convention. For example, in the USA, almost

everything created privately and originally after April 1, 1989 is copyrighted and protected whether it has a notice or not. The default you should assume for other people's works is that they are copyrighted and may not be copied unless you know otherwise. There are some old works that lost protection without notice, but frankly you should not risk it unless you know for sure.

.TIFF –TIFF is a computer file format for storing raster graphics images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry, and both amateur and professional photographers in general. The format was originally created by the company Aldus for use in desktop publishing. When Adobe Systems acquired Aldus, they published Version 6 (1992) of the TIFF specification.

Publisher is a type of software we can use to create newsletters, letters or anything you may need for a business. As publisher is a specific piece of software, it saves its files as .pub. If someone sends someone else a .pub file then they need publisher to open it. If they can’t open it then they won’t be able to see what was sent. A way round this is to use PDF files. PDF are good because they allow anyone to see the file so you can take a file and save it as a PDF and its viewable by anybody. Pictures come in different formats also, the main ones are TIFF, PNG and JPEG as these are the most common. If I wanted to send someone a picture by email I would send a PNG as the file is small, if I wanted something to be the best quality it could be and size didn’t matter then i’d use a TIFF. The most common is JPEG. For my logo I saved it as a PNG as this is a small file but still has good quality.
