Mood Board I have chosen this font for my music magazine because this is simple and bold. Also this font is easy to read for my target audience.

I want to include old style of music like the Beatles so this will appeal to the older target audience, so they will buy and music magazine and therefore my music magazine will be more popular. In addition, the old style of music could teach the younger audience, how much music has changed over a period of time and teach them more about the music industry.

As well as including an old style of music, I also want to include contemporary music like Kayne West as this could appeal to the younger target audience. This could also teach them about the modern day music industry and want talent you need to be in the music industry.

The colour wheel will help me decide what colour I should include in my music magazine. In addition, this will help me because I know what colour is best suited for each other.

This picture of Bjork denotes that I want my music magazine to be bright, bold and unique. I also want my music magazine to be as colourful as this, which I hope will be eye catching for the target audience.

This is the symbol for Facebook. This reveals that my music magazine will on social magazine to keep close with the target audience, as they can see my music magazine daily update.

Location ImageWhen I am looking for a location that I should take the image for the front cover and the double page spread. I would need a place that it is accessible with the Canon camera lighting , good lighting and also a white wall. So that could edit the background of the photograph. I have some planning where I have to check for any possible risks to me and the model before taking the image. In addition I would have to find out if risk to the camera if I take the image within a location.

The lighting is an important part of the photo shoot as it could make the image better as will be easier to see. This is why I am taking the image during the day time as the natural light will come out and therefore improve the image overall. This is why I am taking the image within the kitchen, as it meet the need that brief because it have white wall and also there are three large glass doors that will allow natural light in.

White Wall for photoshoot

Three large glass doors for natural light

Page 7: Unit 14- Producing a Print based Media Product

Test PhotographyThe photograph that I took was taken within a location that I have planned. All of the images that will feature a white with a natural light to brighten the image of the artist. The images of artist will be powerful and confident as she is wearing all black. In the pictures that I have taken show that the artists doing different poses, which will help to show off her character and personality during the photoshoot. These pictures taken within a good area and also with good natural lighting. Within the house where the white wall was it was a control environment which mean that I am able to control all of the risks that could occurred when doing my photoshoot. This will mean that I am able to take away all of the hazards that could harm myself or the artists when doing the photo shoot such as checking if the floor is dry. However, there was some problem that I will have to overcome when taking these pictures. This is important as their will need to time that will best suit my artists because she was busy doing other and her own work. In addition, I would have to check if the weather is good so that the natural light will be good for the photo shoot. This is important as if the lighting is not good, the images will come out badly and therefore the images will not be suited for the magazine front cover and also double page spread.

Page 8: Unit 14- Producing a Print based Media Product

Pre-Production Material

Some of the magazine convention I have changes from the first hand drawn draft of my front cover is the barcode. This is important as I didn’t add any social symbols and also the publisher symbols on top of the barcode. The reasoning why the barcode symbols will need to be included on the magazine as it will show the customers that they are able to follow them on these social media. Also the reasoning why the publisher symbols so that that the customers will know what publication house the magazine come from so that if they have any problem with the magazine, they will know the right publication house the magazine come from. In addition, the barcode will move above the main headline and the main quote, which has changed from the original first hand drawn draft of my front cover.

Potential Hazard/Risk

I have created an image plan so that I will know what I need to do and therefore I can follow the everything that it presented to on the plan. This is important as I can stick to the original and make sure that everything will go smoothly. I will make sure that the final image for the front cover and the double page spread will look professional and therefore good enough to use for my magazine One of the problem that happen during the photoshoot was that the lighting was not bright enough for the photoshoot, which caused the images to come out dark and dull. This is why I have rescheduled the photoshoot so that the weather can be good and therefore the images will come out better. In addition, I would have to avoid all of the potential hazards and risks that could happen during the photoshoot. This is important as I am able to overall come any challenges that could occurred in the photoshoot.

Page 9: Unit 14- Producing a Print based Media Product

Production ProcessI have created a production process plan so that the employees are able to follow these tasks so that the magazine will be made to the best of there ability. This is important as there will be set deadline so that the employees of the magazine are able to work toward them and therefore finish the magazine creation by the time it will be printed and released to the public. This is important as I predict that my magazine should be ready by 1st June 2016 and therefore its launch date will be on the 2nd June 2016. this is important as there is time for the magazine to be sent into shops around the UK.In addition, the editor will first check the editor will check the content in the magazine on 13th May 2016 and see what will need to be changes about the headline or the interviews of the magazine. This is important as the Editors will have over the weekend to check their work before on 18th Monday 2016, the employees will have to make the correction that the editor want to change. This is why I have made changes to the interviews so that the questions will be more interested and therefore take out any question that will not interested for the audiences to read.

First Draft of the Interview Question1. Hello Nicole . It’s good to meet with you – how are you?2. Congratulation, for winning your first Brits award for British Female Solo Artist this

Post-Production Publishing ToolsWhen creating a magazine front cover or double page spread, the most important part of it is to create a blank canvas. This is important as all of the images, text and all of the different layers will be display. To create a blank canvas go on file and then new. Afterward, a dialog box should be display on the screen so that you are able to put in the measurement of the craven. However, for the front cover of the magazine, I have decided to present the blank canvas as an international paper. Once I have decide what all of my measurement is going to be, I will change the name of the blank canvas and then click ‘save Preset…’ as know all of the measurement of the canvas will be saved on to my documents. This is important as as I can used this canvas if I want to make any changes to the canvas for the front cover or double page spread.

Creating canvas on Photoshop

One Photoshop there are one way to insert an image onto a canvas. Firstly go on file and then place. After clicking on place, it should have a pop up of the document. This is important as the document pop up will enable the person to find the image that you want. Click on the image and then click on place. This is important as once the person click on place, the image will transfer to the canvas and then it will give the person to option to resize the image. In addition, once the image is on the canvas it will create a new layer on Photoshop, which you are able to add affect to the image or move around.

Conclusion By looking at each stages of the production process of creating my front cover and the double page spread. This is why have created a step by step guide of the main stages of the magazine so that it will reveal that I have made the magazine on my own and also it will reveal that different tools and techniques I used for the creation of the magazine. However, before any production of my magazine happen, I have created a mood board and also analysed some of the pictures included in the mood board. This is important as this will help to know my target audience better and therefore see what they will like to be included in the magazine. This is important as my mood board would included of images of different genre of artists/bands, different font style and also different social media symbols that my magazine will have.In addition, use created some images that tested the models different poses and facial expression so that I will know what images will be best suited for my magazine and also attract the target audience to buy my magazine. This is important as two of these images will be included on my magazine front cover and also double page spread. This is important as I chose the best image for my magazine. Moreover, I have created a production process of the magazine will go through a process of their creation. This is important as I have created the production so that the employees will know the different tasks that have to be completed before the deadline hit. Therefore have to be ready to print and released to the public. This is important as the creation of the final front cover and also final double page spread so that it will reduce in errors in the magazine and also make it a high quality magazine for target audience to read.
